Star Wars blu ray sept 2011

I'll buy the original trilogy of course, but the Vader scene has been ruined. You don't need him vocalising his thoughts, anybody possessing even the smallest degree of empathy can see the emotional conflict. Not a bad result considering he's wearing that helmet. Unfortunately Lucas doesn't appear to understand this and no doubt felt the audience needed things explained to them "very clearly indeed". :(

He really should stop the tinkering. It's like making a sculpture and knowing when to leave it alone and accept it as finished. You keep tinkering, eventually it'll break, or worse, end up like the prequels... ;)

On the plus side I really fancy seeing Empire in glorious HD, as I thought it looked pretty sharp on just plain ol' DVD.

Hopefully they've excluded that part in Episode IV, where Han Solo steps on Jabba's tail.

That really was a pathetic addition.

Mine arrived this morning :)

Now what order to watch them in, theatrical release order or start with Episode 1 ;)

HUH ?

WTF ?

What's the release date in the UK ?

Not out until the 16th here.

I hope someone strikes you down with vengence and hate ! :p

Mine turned up today as well. I had no idea it was coming as the wife ordered it as a suprise. Had a quick flick through and first immpressions are a little bit of dissapointment the transfer is not the best. Some scenes are noticeably bad with noise and graining.
Will see how it goes over the weekend after watching all 6..

Film has this stuff called grain, its supposed to be there :p
I'm glad they havent DNR'd the hell out of it and the natural grain structure and detail is still intact.

I, II, Clone Wars Movie, Clone Wars cartoon, III, IV, V, VI

Easy. After the Italian GP FP2 session is over, I'll be starting on EP I

Will be interesting to see what they have done for AotC and RotS, shot digitally at 1080p

A lot of films have grain added like 300 for example (a specifically horrific amount of grain).

Other films dont have enough like King Kong, where you can basically see the guys acting in front of the blue screen.

The film cell that comes with it is pathetically small and a total waste of time as it's not even going to be collectable considering how many are being produced, just looked at mine and it's number 99630 :(

AotC and RotS should be gold standard seeing as they where shot on digital.

My prequel trilogy arrived this morning :D

Also, to rub it in, I got the original trilogy for free when I got my bluray player! great success!!

I saw that in the Sept thread. Nice deal. I've just cancelled my order, hoping to see a similar deal like that come over here to the USA.

Mine came from a large supermarkets entertainment website.

Surprised by the quantity of deleted scenes. Some I've seen before in black and white 15fps dodgyvision, but seing them in full colour and reasonable quality *some are better than others* is really nice.

Wonder how long it'll take before a fan edit reintergrates them into the film. :D

even if cgi still is missing some things to make creatures/people realistic it is still a lot better than the thunderbird puppets ;)

i think people just like to moan, reality is the cgi yoda looks so much better than the puppet version in the original trilogy

/ puts on double layered flamesuit

I agree with you mostly but i do no accept your critique about the thunderbird puppets.

Does anyone know of any shops that you can pre-order online and pick up on the day of release?
