I suspect it will be the 28th for early beta released and 30th for the public. makes more sense really.

28th - 99% of people get paid then myself including, the amount of pre-orders they would make.

im might have to sweet talk my wife to let me pre-order today from origin, so when the beta is released i can see how well my system will handle.

Tokyo gameshow. And after that is the Euro Expo. Not until those shows have finished will the demo go public, otherwise what would be the point of attendng the shows.

Aren't you required to use origin no matter what? i.e. no playing the game unless you install this piece of software?

As from what I hear from origin, it's really crappy and the EULA for it is diabolical, but you can't play BF3 without it?

just like any other game tbh, 99% of games needs the user to logg/create an account to logg on, unless your playing offline SP.
