Is anyone else having problems with weapons disappearing from their inventory? I upgraded one of my weapons with the high voltage mod but it didn't appear back in my inventory and it didn't drop to the floor either. I've had a weapon disappear before as well although there's a chance that could have been my fault.

If you want my unbiased (read extremely biased as I love anything with zombies) opinion - it's awesome! Most fun i've had gaming in a good while. Make sure you dl the tweak tool and use a joypad.

Think Borderlands but better, with zombies, and the best first person melee combat to date.

I didn't last more than a few hours in Borderlands before I found the gameplay and everything else really, very tedious.
Sixteen hours in on Dead Island and still hungry for more. :)
Quite surprised actually as I am a die hard shooter player, maybe it is the melee system in DI, I am enjoying so much, as I did not pick the shooter to play with and chose the Blunt instrument expert, if that's how you call it.
The big black guy in the leather, who everyone I come across in game seems to have picked aswell.
Infact I have not seen anyone else in game with a different character.

Agreed. The basic mechanics in Borderlands bored me - the shooting is as basic as it gets. The melee combat in DI a whole lot more satisfying and engaging and the quests more varied and fun.

Just finished the game, took me 21hours all solo, I cant wait to get back on the Island and start fresh it's truly a great game, great storylines, odd ending but thats great also lol
 
where are the saved games stored for this? theres a folder in my doc's but it only seems to have setting files in there

EDIT: its ok i found it, its in the 91310 'id' folder

Coop is best way to go I soled about half the game, teamed up the other half and manage to complete it was great laugh now where are those skulls?
 
Found a couple of errors today.

Jumped through a clear gap in a fence.

Move back a little bit and the fence and half the world dissapears as the renderer decides I can't see it. Interestingly the shadow of the fence is still drawn.

Best not talk about trees and bushes in mid-air, bullet holes in windscreens that have been smashed and pushed out, car steering sticking and a few other things.

A very enjoyable game despite the issues.
 
What exactly is the multiplayer for this game? I can't work it out from what I've read.

From old gameplay vids, it looks like Far Cry 2 meets Left 4 Dead. How do other players join if it's a continuous world?
 
Mine has just decided it's not going to start any more and crashes to desktop just before the main menu.

Stuck on 0.3mb/sec broken DSL at the moment as well, peachy. Just peachy.

Theres no versus Multiplayer on here. But Coop is pretty Fluid and easy if someone is nearby and on same mission a little notification will saying "XXY is nearby press J to join" and if you join you just drop into mission (with loading)

But its not continuous world there are different sections Island/Hotel, City & jungle (maybe one more)

Top Tip: Don't Throw your weapons at zombies when your team mate is wielding a Tesla Hammer! I hit one thug for home run, the guy playing with me was so ****ed off he lost his gold katana
 
I'm loving the game but still have one major pain with random freezes requiring a reboot to clear. Doesn't happen at any particular point, could be after 5 mins of play, could be after 2 hours play. Had it happen a lot when talking to a NPC.

Running a GTX570, anyone seen a solution anywhere? Is not my setup as this is the only game its happened on. Game is still perfectly playable and cool, but is a big annoyance.
