XBOX *** SSF4 Double Elimination Tournament ***

i think next time everyone should stick with characters they declared, so they cant counterpick as badly. but i love the mind games you can do with character order.

yeah i dont think there is any good oni online other than omh, certainly not in uk. i thought sim is good against any shotos, maybe sim struggle to deal with oni's air dash.

i never realised how effective akumas dive kick was against sim until i saw tokido rinsing it over and over again vs yhc mochi

Hi Kreeeee...

If you're around on Saturday for our match, i can be available for the daytime or night.
Just let me know a good time that suits you, get plenty of rest, i don't wanna hear how
you beat me with only 2 hours sleep after working all week long lol.

If I sleep well I'll use the zero practice excuse. This project has been a killer.

Ryan Hart's Oni has obviously had a good deal of lab time, he was doing some good stuff at SvB with Oni but I would honestly love to see a match between him and OMH, I would put money on OMH.

the rules are:

1) If you win a game, you can no longer use that character at all.
2) If you lose a game, you can use the same character or change BUT if you change you can NOT go back to any previous character you used

I have a feeling someone will forget the rules and choose a character they aren't allowed too, if this happens should it be an automatic disqualification??

Just to clarify, my interpretation is that basically, when you win with a character, you can't use them again.

Example coming up:
Ryu beats Ken - Ken changes, Ryu forced to change
Evil Ryu beats Dan - Dan changes, Evil Ryu forced to change
Now, can the Dan player pick Ken? I assumed yes, but '2)' sounds like he can't. If you could clear that up so as to avoid potential arguments and mid match delays.

Disqualification seems a bit harsh, and I get the feeling it will happen to someone :o
I can imagine the super slow arguing over xbox messaging.. *shudder*

I know who Art will use I just don't know in what order...

You think Gouken, Fei, Cammy?

I know who YOU are going to use :p

I think I can summarisr: once u change u cant go back to that char.
U can only stay with the.same char if u lose a battle.

There's that, his tatsu which can go full screen when timed correctly and he has a step kick. I know sim inside out too so I can get in quite fast. Once onis in he is IN, frame traps and light slash pressure destroy sim he gets cornered immediatley

Teleporting on oni is also a bad idea as I jab and dash under for the mixup

Nah m8 I may know the character better but his fundamentals are probably too good for me, but I would love to play an Oni that can beat me cos I haven't found one so far

It was only after i played a Deejay today that i realised i haven't played any in a long time, so with or without practice you'll do just fine lol. :p

Sunday's not looking great for me, unless it's late in the evening.

Saturday is best really, as i can be available either in the daytime or night, whatever suits, just let me know in advance. Cheers.

Nicely summarised, that is basically it.

PLEASE READ THE RULES:

(1) If you WIN you MUST change character.
(2) If you LOSE you CAN change character OR stay with the same char.
(3) As soon as you CHANGE CHARACTER (whether you win or lose) you CANNOT go back to previously used character.

I also have a feeling someone will not read, understand or just completely miss the rules but lets hope not. If it happens please point it out to your opponent via XBL and consider that match a warmup. If you fail to point it out at the time, and they go on to win, there is no point arguing about it later. If they do it twice in one set, they are disqualified.

I have to work Sunday night so I can't play then anyway. Can do Saturday afternoon.

OK Art I've just got in, gonna have sumit to eat then I will be on for awhile. We will play at around 1-2pm if you want? I haven't played SF in a few days, that's my excuse just so you know. :)

Whoa major confusion already... I played for about 20 mins then went out for half hr, came back and saw 3 msgs from Art, one being an invitation. I msg Art saying give me 10 mins and I'll invite him for our league games, I join the lobby to see him having friendlies with Hyv so I join in. For some bizarre reason Hyv doesn't play and lets me play Art at which point I though why is he not playing. Art if I msg you saying give me 10 minutes and I'll invite you for tourney games, and we are in a 3 man lobby 5 seconds later, how does that mean lets have the league games now??? Holy confusion batman. :/

If I message you asking if you're warmed up, then invite you, then it's clearly for the tournament match. You said you were away, and then join. So you're clearly not away and ready to play. Is that not a reasonable assumption???

Most definitely not, I joined a 3 man lobby! Plus I was away for 30 mins, when I came back I saw 3 msgs from you plus an invite, I didn't know if you just sent them or whether they were from 20 mins ago, so I msg'd you back saying I'll play you in 10 mins. When I try join the invite you are playing hyv so I thought ok I'll warm up in here rather then find another endless lobby. Suddenly Hyv decides not to play and I thought wait a second...

When I msg'd you saying give me 10 minutes you were in a lobby with Hyv so you must have got it straight away surely.
