BF3 will use PunkBuster as its anti-cheat system. Game servers that run in ranked mode are required to have PunkBuster active.
There have been problems with the PunkBuster screenshot mechanism under DirectX 10/11 in the past. However, we have collaborated with EvenBalance to make screenshots function reliably with DX10/DX11 in BF3.

lol basically the pb screenshot thing has been useless since it came out . black screenshots and most people have cleaners on dinosaur technology.

What do you expect instead?

Good servers have admins to monitor these situations (with good judgement obviously). This has always been the only way to effectively deal with hackers and griefers.

well i hoped maybe years ago a better alternative would come about or the games actual makers get involved and help make hacking a lot harder.

they get your money they should help.

pb is too old and like said doesnt catch the paid subscription hacks.

You can release all the protection you want but the hackers will find a way to overcome. Same as piracy.

The only reliable way to catch them is with human eyes with banning privileges.

No anti-cheat is perfect but I'd rather have one that partially works than non at all.

Apart from active admins (which can be hard as we like to play too and not just baby sit the server) all servers really should stream their ban lists to places such as PBBans and/or Punksbusted.

Not only do the provide good pb configs they also ensure no caught cheaters play on your server if they have been caught elsewhere. There's no sense in not streaming as you'll only benefit from doing it.

We stream every pb enabled server we have and caught our last hacker on our Unranked BF2 practice server about 2 months ago.

Its harsh and difficult to admin, but its what already in place.

I think kill cams should help allot. It's so hard to tell if someone is wallhacking/botting on BC2 without it.

It's very difficult with out first person kill cam. If you have played allot of FPS you just know some shots are not right, i.e., when someone just snap's 180 degrees and lands a perfect headshot. Or they are constantly landing headshots from miles away with MG's ...

You pretty much can't unless it's an extremely obvious cheat -- which are pretty rare. Whilst more subtle forms of cheating exist, nobody has anyway to discern from their end between that and skill so don't even worry about it tbh.

If someone is 57-0 and standing on some random roof/hill just hip firing with his assault rifle while the rest of his team are like 4-2, I would say he is cheating

I am not one for calling "OMG HAX!" when you walk around a corner and get insta gibbed by some random sniper who's jumping off a roof while head shoting you, most of the time it's a lucky shot or they are just better than me with sniper rifles.

I've hax called on many occaisions, usually its me in frustraition as I am getting my arse handed to me.
