do you bother installing drivers on win 7?

I install graphics, sound, motherboard/cpu from the motherboard manufacture websites. The peripherals from their manufacture and anything the monitor manufacture has. I will also install the sata and controller drivers from the manufactures website. Keep bios up to date. I always try to avoid any pre-packaged software with the drivers and just install the drivers.

Yep, I always get the latest ones available from the manufacturer. May as well, either way probably doesn't make much difference tbh

i usually end up reinstalling windows every month due to some problem or another so i only bother installing the drivers i need at that time

Always scoop the latest drivers. Habit more than anything. With Windows drivers some rare times stuff doesn't quite work the way it is supposed to, like front panel audio switching

Something is wrong if a reinstall is necessary that frequently, but regardless, have you considered just taking a disk image? It would be far easier than going through the whole process every time.

Nah i never bother,I find that if i install the latest ethernet drivers it keeps cutting out my connection so i dont bother and its fine,I only install GFX Drivers and then update windows fully (Minus the Ethernet/Chipset drivers and IE 9).

If you don't play games and the machine works it's usually not worth bothering.

If you want the best performance then it's a good idea since the drivers installed with Windows are quite old.

Even if you do 'install' Intel chipset drivers they don't actually install properly. Check the date of them in Device Manager. You need to run the installer in Vista SP2 mode for some reason. After doing that they do install properly and it does make a little difference to the speed of your machine I found.
