How many people who have written in here have even driven an E92 or an E82, let alone both?
Of course the 135i [manual] will be more fun to drive than a 335i auto.
If you don't need the extra refinement or space, I see no reason not to.
Really?
You honestly fail to see why someone fails to get excited by a big, heavy, automatic 335i or why they might think a smaller, perhaps more nimble 135i Coupe manual might be more fun?
OP: FWIW, a friend of mine recently picked up a 135i and after his two previous cars being a 106 GTi and a 2005 Impreza STi PPP he claims it to be the most fun car he's had yet.
LOLWUT, this view point might be acceptable to some but is really beyond a joke for any real car enthusiast. The very thought of me stepping anywhere near a 3 series (bar an M3) instills fear in me because of the lesser quality than say the 5 series. I understand 100% your friends thoughts on the 135i being better than a 106 and Impreza, because, in almost every way, it is a better car. It isn't however, better than a 335i. It might possibly be more enjoybale, or more powerful, but these factors alone do not make a car better.
You must have a lot of friends!![]()

It might possibly be more enjoybale
because I find a 5 series more enjoybale than a 1 series. The enjoyment is subjective, surely
Mike thinks that anyone whose car he's photographed or cleaned is his friend.
I have not cleaned that car, nor did I photograph it.
I drive a 2.0 TSI scirocco (not my car) when I am in prague and if I am honest its probably more fun and exiting then the 335i.
Whoop Whoop go VW!![]()
Ok so you read one of his posts on a discussion forum or something.
Why did you post a load of photos of BMWs then edit your post to replace it with a sad smiley, out of interest?
Yes, I went on to a discussion forum to find someone with a 135i, went through all of his posts to establish his real name and location to stalk him on Facebook, where his profile just so happened to be public and then screenshotted his gallery just so I could say I have a friend with a 135i?!
I haven't edited anything - I suspect Gyazo have stopped hot linking, you can right click and view image if you want to see it.

Lucero, you say that MikeHiow's point of view is 'beyond a joke for any real car enthusiast', then admit that the 135i might be more you enjoyable than the 335i, which is exactly the point MikeHiow was making. So wtf exactly are you on about? I notice your epic backtracking, trying to make out that you meant that you perceived a 5 series as more enjoyable, whereas actually you failed the properly read Mike's post and assumed he'd said that the 135i was better rather than more enjoyable.
And thanks for clarifying that enjoyment is subjective, I don't think anyone had realised that.
Err, what? What I was saying, is, if you are the type of person that gets into a 1 series and goes "wow, what a nice place to be" then drives it and says "OMG so much more enjoyable overall then a 335i" either, has never sat in a 3 series period, or driven a 335i. The 335i is just as enjoyable as a 1 series if not more so because you don't have to put up with the cheapest interior this side of a Ford Focus. The 335i is an all round more enjoyable car and that should be apparent to anyone who even has the slightest regard for car enjoyment. The 335i just cushions you better so to get the same thrill you might have to push it harder, which it will take (and the 1 series won't). Therefore, enjoyment is subjective. Enjoyment can not be guaged by taking just one aspect of a car and saying it's more enjoyable. You have to judge the whole package. In doing this, you'll understand that the 1 series is in no way, more enjoyable
