sub 6 second car

Basicly I've got a small problem in deciding/choosing a new car. Wonding if you can give me some ideas as I've completely ran out.

The car idealy needs to be 3 door hatchback, maybe a 4 door salon but can't help but think would look like a family car? (Single lad)

After my last car I'm looking for one that does 0-60 in 6 or less seconds?

Mpg I'm not worried to much about as long as its no worse than 10.

An say £7-8000 to play with, and ideas would help a lot
 
What an odd set of criteria.

Whats so special about 6 seconds that 5.9 is fine but 6.2 wouldn't do?

What sort of running costs are you after - most of the 5-5.9 second to 60 saloon cars for this budget will be circa 10 year old M5's and the like which are very expensive to run. I'd imagine if you had the cash to just blow on running something like that you'd probably have a bigger budget than £7k anyway. Your criteria and comments like 'dont want it to look family' make me think you probably don't need or want something in quite that league.

There are many more cars available in the 6 second bracket with far more manageable running costs.
 
Bugeye (2005) Impreza WRX or STi, depending however nuts you want to go with it :)

I'd be more worried about looking like a hairdresser if i had a 4 door salon.

Anyway - have you looked into 330i's? £7-8k should get you a decent one. Forget the stupid 6 seconds or under to 60 thing.

EDIT: Actually, forget my suggestion - get the Impreza.
 
oh god what was I thinking! Yeah blobeye (and I've flipping got one as well).

Apologies, long day, lots going through my tiny brain at the moment and had the wife on the phone at the same time. I'm not a woman so can't multitask properly :)

Yeah I've considered these there nice cars.

The impreza I've looked at too, not to sure on it tho looks a bit like a rc car lol.

Running cost I'm not to worried about either, an the reason for sub 6 seconds in the last car was 7secs, 52 sri asta turbo had to go tho it being a vauxhall .
