Last time I played it it appeared to have changed massively in how it worked. Didin't seem so base heavy?

Yeah it takes a fair bit to destroy a base.... but i think thats part of the idea.

Runs fine on my install of win7 64bit ultimate mate.
Had so much potential but the final release was poor if i recall, it was badly balanced, full of points exploits with nukes going off after 3 minutes of play and they didnt support it well with patches afterwards either, They basically abandoned it
Graphically and unit wise etc it exactly what i wanted form and RTS,
Very few RTS games even in development now, even a COH 2010 or something along those line would rock, SupCom was ok, the large scale was nice but it got hard to keep track.

CoH is very much based on expanding and pushing, of course you can hold if you can control half the map... as then its almost a stale mate in terms of resources you get (each player/team)... but the point of the game is to keep attacking, the more points you control the higher your pop cap will be and more resources you will gather.
Ive been in 4v4 human games that have been a ding dong all over the map, lasting upto 2 hours.. usually there is one big bang where boths teams unload their wad... before everyone scrapping up wahtever they can to make the breakthrough. Great fun, so many options/tactics that you generally see something different every game.

Has anyone had problems combining a steam purchase with an account from a retail copy?
I have both retail versions of CoH and OF, and fancy adding Tales of Valor.

This is a must have PC game at any price, such an epic game with hours and hours of content
Should be able to add the cd key from the Steam version to your game account once logged into Relic Online

CoH is one of the best RTS games I ever played. This is a must. The expansion packs sucked IMHO.
Me and two others were playing this online last night still just as awesome ad ever and three hard ai can bloody well spank you!!
A few of the community mods are worth a mention, but I'm on my phone at the moment and cannot remember what they are called!
