wait so you pay £14 to for a digital version that expires on the 29th and then you have to buy a disc version?

Anyone want to buy some of my chocolate kettle's?

No, you pay £14-17 for a years worth of early release on all EA Sports titles, plus a 20% discount on all purchases (specifically handy if you buy packs, even more so if you buy lots) and also access to the premium content in the creation centre on the website to import into your game. You also get a SPECIAL BADGE.

In reality, it's the 20% discount you're paying for, the rest is just a bonus. Many people will spend about £100 over the course of the entire year of Ultimate Team. You'll save about £20, and thus either get the same amount of packs for less, or more packs for the same money.

Can't use them :s Tired to bid for messi :P

Keeps saying don't have any coins.

Do I need to have coins as well ?

Bid tokens are used solely on the web app. You use one whenever you bid on something. Coins are your currency to buy players with.

WHAT people spend £100 on UT? really...? does that just seam a little crazy or is it just me, sure i can see the odd gold pack now and again but you never got anything good in them to justify spending £100

I've been playing way to much of the demo. Watching Brighton - Leeds and just looked at the bottom of my monitor to look at the radar. :(

I know quite a few people that have spent the best part of two grand on World of Warcraft character transfers and race/faction changes. FIFA and UT is cheap! :p

I havent played UT since 09 where I amassed 1 million coins without spending any real world money - was 11 a lot harder to get coins?

Stuff seems to be selling tonight. From zero to 2k!

Found a little technique for getting some bargains :)

Care to share? :)
My cheap fast silver players aren't selling very well at the moment.

I want to create a EPL team but want a Serie A team as well as they have quite a few 5 star players. Can't decide which one to go for first!

I liked Serie A last time around and remember a lot of the decent players. I got rid of a silver RM for 400 coins, bought a gold Serie A player for 400. Hopefully I get a couple hundred extra and I'll rinse and repeat from there. Didn't really want to sell the player because he's better than what I've got so far!

It's not really that bad. Considering UT lasts almost a year, that's less than a tenner a month which is nothing really.

The way I usually work out whether it's value for money is by working how many hours of entertainment/enjoyment I get out of something and multiply that by my wage. So essentially, £17 for the season ticket, £40 for the game and £100 on packs.

£157 over the year.

I will play at least 600 games competetively on UT and about 400 against friends.

1000 games. Games are 6 minutes a half, but can last longer, but we'll go with the 6 minutes.

So that's 1000x12 = 12,000 minutes of game time.

12000/60 = 200.

So that's 200 hours of usage.

Now, considering that I have to work afford to buy these things, £157 works out at about 25 hours work.

So for 25 hours of work, I get 200 hours of enjoyment/entertainment.

If you look at it like that, it's not so bad.

Edit: It probably seems mad to everyone else. But it makes sense to me. :3

Also, looking forward to playing FIFA 12 tomorrow. :D

Sure, it's just a cut down version of the 59 minute trick. Search for gold players at a 150 max price. A few will appear, not many. Bid around 250/300 on these, depending on player and ratings then let the auction run it's course. I often snag a few for 300 and sell for profit. Not huge profit but 150/200 coins each soon adds up.

Will give that a go. Cheers mate.
