I also like to have a suitable amount built up at all times because you never know what the future might hold and what opportunities you could miss because your life is full of material items you didnt really want or you've spent it all on booze and your savings balance is nil.
I've found that the more money I earn, the less I want to spend. 25 now and earning near enough double what I did 5 years ago, but most of it goes into savings. I guess it's partly down to growing up too and having a different attitude towards money. I care much more about what I spend it on now whereas I wouldn't think twice about dropping £100 on an evening out, now the thought of that horrifies me. Getting old![]()
This. And I am 16, 17 next month

I don't come from a rich family, and didn't work last summer (never worked

Personally, I want to buy, a new desk chair, 2 new 22 inch TVs, Astro Mixamp, new PC setup (as what I have is SO bad), some 7 PS3 games, new desk, capture card.....
Pretty much it.
What I will probably buy (out of those) in the next year:
2 games.
MAYBE a TV (but I doubt it).
May I add, I don't smoke or drink, and those are stuff I just thought I want now, so there are obviously more. I can't justify spending 100+ euros on a chair, or 1.5k on a beast setup.
I do plan on getting a job next year, and all the money goes for stuff I want (stuff mentioned above) so I won't touch my savings.
