Failed my driving test this week... How many attempts did it take you?

Three times here, first was rubbish, the examiner lied to me about what he failed me on and I tried to argue, got the same examiner second time around and he was just looking for any excuse. Third time I went to a different testing centre and passed with a couple of minors.

Passed first time here with 6 minors. I always laugh when there are people who have failed countless times yet always blame it on something outside of their control. I have a family member who failed her test 5 times yet somehow it was always someone else's fault apparently. :p

Yeh I felt my examiner was unfair, but there is no point arguing it as once they've made thier decision that's it. So just going to hope I don't get the same guy again!

2nd, nerves did me in 1st time. That and my examiner was a cold hearted bitch who had no personality at all, spoke with a quiet voice, and didn't do eye contact. Made me very uncomfortable.

First time for me. I was one minor short of a fail though :D

I did manage to stall the engine, but because I hanlded the matter so calmyl and effectively, he only gave me a minor. That was about halfway through and I thought I was knackered, so I stopped worrying and just drove after that - and it worked out ok :)

3 times here

1st time i did parallel park i was told i parked the car too far back from the car in front 1 major 3 minors
2nd time i clipped a curb 1 major 4 minors
3rd time i passed 0 major 3 minors

First time, 21 years ago.

I did, however, try to reverse a trailer today for the first time in my life and I just couldn't do it. I had full left/right lock, straight centre etc etc and I couldn't get the bloody thing to line up.

So yeah, don't feel too bad OP, it's never too late to learn how to do stuff :)

Second time - failed the first for exactly the same reason as you. Don't let it get you down, the second time is a lot easier than the first because you know exactly what to expect.

Bike: first time, no lessons. Car: first time, 5 lessons including the hour or so for the test. Don't think I got any faults on either. The car examiner told me I'd passed then remembered to ask me a few questions about the Highway Code.

Maybe it was easier back then :)

Passed first time altough my transcription said I had 4 minors on mirrors alone. I thought 4 minors on one aspect lead to a major? So I don't really understand how I passed.

Were you wearing high heels at the time?

lol no. Was a crossroads with lights, i had the green light to turn right, cutting across oncoming traffic, but oncoming hadn't stopped, so i didnt pull out. Failed me for it :(
Was right at the start as well, i looked down and saw i'd failed.
