Failed my driving test this week... How many attempts did it take you?

And how does it indicate ability? You wont find stats for either. As the results for either is the same.

Well, driving per se causes the body a lot of stress, so having the ability to cope with stress and maintain a sufficient level of driving ability would seem just as important.

Anyway, your safe, it's only an opinion not likely to become law :)

I'm just not worried by the fact that some people wouldn't be able to drive. Maybe it would keep a lot more of the bad drivers off the road.

And then there are the elderly....:p

Wow some people fail... if you fail 3 or more times I think you just weren't meant to drive.

Yeah? I find it amusing how people can say this.

I get nervous when taking tests and I think that had a large part to play on me taking 3 attempts to succeed (I passed on my 3rd attempt).

The air must be thin up on your high horse.

People do not react the same to all situation. They can drive perfectly normally, but be a wreck in a test situation.

I passed second time round, I could give the excuse that my instructor changed their car one lesson before my first test but realistically I could and should have passed regardless. However it was a long time ago now and the only benefit I'd have got from passing first time would be the bragging rights.

Took 3 attempts

1st time reverse park (it belted it down with rain -back window steamed up couldnt see a thing!) Failed!

2nd attempt noticed in the morning I couldn't find my provisional needed to sit test Doh!!

3rd passed personally think it should have been a fail on pulling out checked mirrors seen car pulled out anyway for some silly reason got beeped at still passed.

I passed 2nd time, but then I only took 10 lessons, the examiner didn't like the fact I was in the wrong lane when pulling off the roundabout, even though I signalled/checked mirrors, so it was a perfectly safe maneuver, but not by the book.

First time. 2 completely bogus minors. One for checking my blind spot too far over my shoulder and one for entering a roundabout when a car was on the opposite side of the roundabout which was apperently too close.

That was nearly 12 years ago. The morbidly obese examiner made 3 point turns a challenge!

First time with 7 minors, best thing to do is before you actually go to do a maneuver is to take a second to think about what you're going to do.
