Yes, because those things are inherent to the engine, not whatever texture/lighting/effect shader happens to be being used at the moment.
You speak as though everybody is swallowing the marketing hook line and sinker. The majority of us have taken everything said with a very large pinch of salt.
"oh its a proper pc game " not console then just before release ps3 gets exclusive content first (haha)i know not all swallow the marketing bs games companies tell you but a big majority do look at this game for prime eg
as for new engine it will be a lot of what they have done already and polished well just like any other team who makes games.

Movement could probably be duplicated to probably any engine with trial and error.
It's not.
It's a hell of a lot more complicated than an updated Frostbite 1 engine.
Especially since it's the first engine built using the DX11 API fully and 64-bit architecture. Not just an add-on.
I really don't want to bog down the thread with technical facts because everybody just goes quiet.
Whilst I agree they'll have certain thing from previous engines, it's not just DX11 slapped onto frostbite 1.5.
It deals with resources completely differently and just better.
And that somehow negates the fact that the game was developed primarily on pc? Seriously what way does your brain work to even come up with a connection like that, ps3 getting access to a map pack first means in your little mind that its not a true pc game?
DERP much?
Indeed. Which makes more sense though - spending time and resources making something new which exactly emulates something old or just re-using the old?
Theyve obviously reused some of the stuff, but in the end id imagine most of the new stuff is new and not just updated. And that somehow negates the fact that the game was developed primarily on pc? Already said on the last page that new engines still can make use of older code if it works well![]()

I'm not saying that it is just DX11 slapped on to Frostbite 1.5. What I am saying is that it is an incremental improvement on the older engine and not so different as some people are claiming with their "you'll need a 6990 or SLI 580s to run in ultra settings". It may well require those things but if it does it's due to something being done wrong, not because they've created an entire new engine from scratch.
What they have done is taken the base for FB1.5 and slapped on new netcode, a new renderer and changed the way it can handle patches. It's really not as exciting as the marketing would have you believe.
I don't believe it's an incremental update. I believe they have learned from their previous engines but done a lot more work than what you have just said.I think you're missing the point.
And I'm sadly going to have to do something more productive than argue on the forums for the rest of the day :/ I'm sure we'll be proven right or wrong soon enough.

Yeah I do agree the hardware requirements won't be as extreme as that unless running at 5k x 1080 resolution.
Is that opinion or got a source for that?I don't believe it's an incremental update. I believe they have learned from their previous engines but done a lot more work than what you have just said.
I don't have a source it's just my opinion based on what I've seen of the alpha and all the usual marketing sources.
Really have to dash now. As above, I'm sure we'll find out one way or another soon.

ok so why give a "pc" game to console first ? please explain that . im all ears .
