Hey guys,
Just bought an additional 6870, and I cant seem to get crossfire to work!

I have an Asus P5k motherboard.

The card is detected in device manager, but under the hardware section of CCC the second adapter is showing as disabled.

The crossfire bridge is installed, I have uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers, I have updated the bios to the latest version, nothing :/

Please help!

Have you downloaded the CROSSFIRE drivers???? Their is an additional download for crossfire!

i thought those profiles were not used to enable xfire. when i had 6870 cf, it just worked when i plugged it in... the profiles are only for optimising cf scaling in certain game, is that not right?

That's correct. You don't need the CAP's to enable Crossfire.

OP, have connected the PCI-E power cables to the new card? If you have ensure they're properly connected.

What make and model of PSU do you have?

Which exact model of the Asus P5K do you have?

On my P5K deluxe there is a crossfire setting in the bios that can be enabled/disabled, iirc it's called CGI and is in chipset menu.

Try using 2 crossfire bridges, it should not make any difference but on some cards it does. My system is running with 2 and i have had no problems with them.

Thanks for all the responses guys, I've done all but get a new crossfire cable, which I have ordered, but to no avail.

I have actually just caved and bought a new mobo/cpu combo, have gone for an i5 with a new mb and ram, as I have read bad things about the p5k and crossfire, fingers crossed this will work! :D

dont know if it has to be this way or not but if i remember the cf bridge has 0 and 1 written on it, so maybe the 0 has to be on main card and 1 on the other?

Doesn't matter! I have changed mine a million times

@OP, if you struggle to find a bridge mate, I have got one. TRUST message me if you get stuck

Good luck
