I'm having nothing but troubles with my new build. This is the latest.

After coming out of a game of League of Legends, I got a bluescreen (The error code was STOP 0x00000007a or something like that). After restarting the computer, straight after the post screen I get a "BlInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" error. I tried re-installing windows, but while trying to delete the partitions on the SSD to reinstall, the installer froze up. After another restart, the SSD is no-longer recognised in the Bios.

I've installed Windows on another drive now, so I can actually use the computer, which seems otherwise fine.

I'll be calling Crucial's support as soon as it's open, but any suggestions as to anything I can try myself ?

If the SSD is not detected in POST after a full power cycle (turning the power supply off at the wall or rocker switch, pressing the power button whilst off to drain any remaining power from the motherboard, wait 30 seconds before turning on again) and / or clearing the BIOS and / or testing it with another computer, with different cables then your only option will be to return the drive. If it is detected and you are still getting blue-screen errors, then I would ensure the latest firmware update is installed on the drive and secure erase it to start again. Clear BIOS regardless and ensure the system is stable, e.g. memory timings & voltages are correct and refrain from overclocking until you have successfully installed Windows and have a stable base to work from.

Things you can also try in your BIOS settings are: ensuring AHCI is enabled before you install Windows unless you're updating the firmware on the drive, in which case IDE is needed (although there is no harm in testing whether IDE mode will allow you to successfully boot, but this should not be an issue). Also see if switching Hot-Plugging on and off makes a difference.

Says who? You can treat a SSD like any other hard drive, no idea why people seem to think they are special little **********.

I think he meant before installing windows on a new or unformated drive drive.. the advice is always to let windows do it so the alignment is right.

Thanks for the post.

I've tried changing the cables and port the drive is attached to and changing between AHCI/IDE. I've got the computer running again with windows installed on a different mechanical drive, and everything seems fine other than the SSD still not being recognised.

I did try booting with the firmware upgrade disk, on the off chance it had any tools on it that might be useful other than the firmware updater. There weren't, but the drive was detected by the firmware updater as having the latest version (0009), even though it's still not detected in the BIOS.

The only thing I haven't tried that you mentioned is the Hot-Plugging, where would I find that setting ?

Thanks :)
