Who here owns a Renaultsport?

You do know the Clio badge isn't glued on? removing it will leave holes on show. Might de-badge mine and paint my Clio badge the same colour I've done all my badges/bullets and leave the Renault Sport badge off.

Not sure I can justify paying £38 for the newer badge, seems a bit silly paying that amount for a badge.

Cannot explain how much of a ballache that was...

Take the first wheel off, take the caliper off, go to remove the disc and one of the bolts is completely rounded off, who ever changed the discs last time must have rounded it off when putting it back on too tight.

Move to the next side, disc changed fine...remove old pads, go to put new ones in, don't fit...after 30 minutes of swearing and punching to get them in, it just wasn't having it. So i decided to file the edges down until it fit in nicely. Has anybody else experienced this with ds2500 pads?

Got one side fully done, discs, pads and braided lines.

Moved to the back, got the caliper off, changed the disc, changed the pads, go to put the caliper back in place and it won't line up, piston is too far out and siezed.
Managed to hammer the piston back enough to get the caliper back on. Other side, same problem but i CANNOT move the piston enough to get the caliper lined up with the bolt holes.

Also i haven't a bloody clue how the rear braided lines go on. I know they replace the back part of the original line, but the new lines are threaded, and the original rubber hose looks clamped?

So all in all, i still need to file down the front right pads, get the disc bolt out (probably tap and die) and get the rear caliper on.

And to finish it off, my locking wheel not key has cracked

The aim of today was to get as much work done before taking it to the garage, i've probably saved 2 hours labour so far. Hopefully booking it in tuesday to get the work done for the master cylinder.

Finally ordered another set of OMP sidemounts for the passenger side, and got some harness eye bolts + spreader plates. They should be here soon.

I started a group buy on CS for a roll cage, and thanks to mad max we have been able to organise some massive discount on the oreca cages. Hopefully we won't have to pay until the 21st october as this is when i next get paid, i guess it depends on how quickly the other guys want them.

Preferably i want to go for the race cage...

After that, i just need to get the cup car top mounts & strut, and then polybush the front of the car.

Before the car came off the road i noticed some play in the gearbox mount when lifting off under hard acceleration so i'll replace this too at some point.

Car is getting expensive.... :p

Any reason why you haven't just bought a better car? :p

Because i would have to spend a crap load of money to better it. Something high powered and RWD, which would kill me on insurance aswell.

Plus i've never driven, or been in a car that gives me the feeling the clio does. It just feels so light, flickable, tight and precise.

Has anyone done a coolant change here? I bought 5L of Renault coolant a while back but I'm now unsure if I've bought enough. I've been putting off doing it because of this :(

I believe there are 2 types of DS2500 pads, neither of which fit correctly, both have to be filled at each end. Which pad did you get, I believe one has far more surface area, and is thicker.

Just drill the bolt out.

Also, the rear pistons wind in, if you've been hitting it with a hammer, I'd be worried about what damage you've done.

Rear braided lines go under the car where the rear axle pivots:

5L is more than enough, although it can be diluted.

My car is leaking a small amount of oil, if left for about 12 hours it might leave something the size of a 50p coin or something (maybe a little more), so not a lot. How do I stop this?

No I took the undertray off some time ago for something and couldn't be bothered to put it back on as I lost a couple of the screws!

I haven't actually looked to see where it's coming from though, I'll do that when I get a chance.
