The MP in this is cracking. Makes a change from the usual FPS and can be quite tactical.

Ha ha I finished solo horde on Overpass. Instagib melee and super reload for the win! Fun though and I still got the cheevo.
Thought the last wave would be a good boss but it was just loads of high level enemies.. like mini Corpsers and lots of grinders, boomers, diggers and a few of thos long beetles. I guess its random.
Edit* Yeah I got the instagib melee earlier - its a grind to get 200 kills with Wretches in beast mode though :/

Horde is a huge improvement over the last game
I only played a single game but it was good fun until I quit the game because the 12 year old on our team started throwing a massive hissy fit because nobody wanted to hold the ammo box so he could use the vulcan cannon
Also nobody knew what the **** they were doing and just kept saving up their money when defences needed repairing, so I could never get anything upgraded beyond level 2.

I just bought the silverback machine and had a wave with it then I had to go. Some goon jumped in it by the time I got back and wrecked the damn thing!!

It's got far more to give than the last one that's for sure. I never really enjoyed the last one after doing the 50 once. I think I've completed about 350 waves now.
Love it, it's pretty useless in public though because of the quitting.
I think to combat that you should be able to join games in progress if you like and be given a lump of money to spend depending on how much has already been earnt by the others.
The thing is, try it in versus bot match yourself, it requires being closer than you think and like the gnasher you are just aiming center screen. I find it much harder than the gnasher to get insta kills.

I don't. I got fed up of some gimp killing me with it earlier. I equipped it and got 5 kills in a row with it. No aiming. Just get close and you get a kill.
Even though I find it easier I refuse to use it as it's such a cheap weapon.
Whats the quickest way to level up defences? Should I be buying multiple command posts and buying barriers or just buy the 1 command post and keep upgrading/maintaining the ones closest?
I ask because getting barriers from level 3 to level 4 took ages all because idiots kept buying everything they could all across the map and they never repaired them so they just went and wasted more money buying them again.
Defences are pretty pointless to be honest.
I've found the easiest way isn't to build anything at all for the first 7 waves of any 10 wave 'set' and then build some barriers to slow the bigger guys down for the last waves + boss wave. Repeat.
Agree with this completely. The Sawn Off is completely OP. It was fine in the beta because the lancer/hammer burst were stronger then they are now so you had plenty chance to down your opponent from range before they get close. I honestly can't believe they nerfed them so badly because of all the crying on the forums "Wah wah, Gears is about shotguns and they are pointless!11!oneone"
Since when was it about shotguns? its only been that way because every other weapon was made completely pointless due to bad code and balancing in Gears 1 +2 .

Do you think they will patch the sawn off shotgun?
I doubt it, any changes they make will make it worse then the Gnasher.
Best way would be to add back the damage and speed slow-down to the other ranged weapons.
I hope so. They need to reduce the range if nothing else.
if they don't then I won't be buying any DLC for the game and i'll be trading it in for BF3 or MW3. This was my most wanted game this year but that gun has ruined MP for me.
The best way is one command post, the trouble as you say with randoms is they run all over laying stuff everywhere. Always repair damage to 3 or 4 main bits of equipment rather than building new stuff.
If something gets destroyed tried to even part repair it, because it's cheaper than starting to upgrade it again.
I've fully upgraded fences but tbh they are too expensive and are so easily destroyed by tickers. I personally think the barb wire fence is enough.
Turrets don't need to go past lancers. The troika again is expensive and has less ammo.
It doesn't matter if you spend money on new stuff or upgrades or repairs it all adds to the money spent on that level.
If you are stuck with randoms feel free to jump into our party if and when you like or see space available. Apart from Wyrdo who is a kill stealing **** the rest of us find a home build it up and use our pool of money to keep it going. Again apart from Wyrdo in his silverback who cries any time a locust scuffs the paint on his virtual machine
Don't forget to spend some on decoys to get enough to unlock auto turrets
They have been doing the rounds since the beta, they clearly like it how it is. The thing is most of the time you should get them down sticking as a team and keeping them at bay. It makes me laugh this veteran stuff v noob stuff. A veteran should be able to keep a new player at bay. A 'noob' won't have the aiming accuracy they should have to get up close to them in the first place. They will miss more often of misjudge the distance required to get the kill. They then have a huge reload window.
A veteran player should just equip the sawn off and use his honed skills rolling around with a gnasher to kill them quicker than the 'noob' can kill them.
The range does need tweaking clearly from that video, but why would you buy MW3 when you ranted about the others and nothing will have changed in that either
