Sorry OcUk GD crew but I need to get this off my chest.

No big story here I just...ugh...

Sometimes you *have* to call the ex to talk over legal matters (in my case starting the divorce process) and thats fine. But I tell you this - forget the *casual* calls to her just to "check to see if shes ok".

Anyways tonight after a particularly long time without meeting her I thought I would call for once to "see how she was doing" <---(fail already).

Called her cell and:

Ring ring....ring ring....ring ring....ring ring....ring ring ring ring....ring ring...ring ring...ring ring...ring ring.....(by now I should have got the hint & hung up) ring ring.........ring ring.....ring ring.....ring ring.....ring ring.....ring ring.....ring ring.....ring ring......Hello? Hello?

Me: Hey its me
Her: Ok..?
Me: Didnt hear from ya in a while how you been, u @ home?
Her: No, Im out...
Me: Ok just wanted so say hi
Her: Ok....?
Me: Speak to ya sometime then..
Her: Ok biieeeeeeeeeeeee!

:::click:::::

Dont ya hate it when that happens...because *you* are the one left feeling like an idiot.

I dont blame her @ all...I blame me...Im such a dumbass :(. Now Im thinking "Shes met someone...shes on a date"...well of course thats gonna happen sometime but still..bleh.

Why do we call ex's?? Ok lesson learnt. I was on a roll and broke it

And yea...if any of you reading this are in the same boat - unless is genuinely necessary: put that phone down. Do your own thing, shes on a different path now!

OcUk..commercial breaks over now - u can go back to ur dinner/TV/Gaming lol.

Delete number and break all contact (delete her from Facebook...like now you stalker!!) and it will get better.

:)

I had a handwritten note through my door today from an ex of over 2 years, asking if I fancied a drink & giving me her number.

So it's not just blokes pal.

Dont act as if you dont know why you called.

You know why you called

:( Yea

Need to snap out of it. But for real - lesson learned.

Oh!..ok well thats good to know its not just us!

I keep wanting to call my ex.

But I don't, because I know he doesn't want to speak to me :p
Cut all contact, will be easier later on.

dude, she's out with the new guy probably... chill, delete all contact details, get a new hobby, get down the gym and in a couple of months youll be feeling good and someone else even better will come along!

Peace

I broke up with my ex of 3 and a bit years, waited till she left for work, moved all my stuff out and took the dog and never spoke to her again.

Be a man and grow some balls.

You called and spoke without purpose..."just want to say hi"

If anyone did that to me I'd respond the same way, its equivalent to cold calling.

I hear ya, TBH its not like Im pining for her and missing her (its been 2 yrs and Im liking being single & free) I guess theres moments of weakness....grrr...

I guess I could see this as a blessing in disguise, learnt lesson the hard way & wont happen again.

You called and spoke without purpose

This is true..

An ex added me on facebook recently, started messaging me left me her new number.

Why is she doin that? What did you do?

The sever will be difficult if you're getting divorced as you may need to speak to her but other than that do what this guy said. It's basically what I would have written.

I don't understand. You basically signed off when you said "Speak to ya sometime then..".

Why didn't you say what you actually wanted to say to her at that point?

Yea..when we DO meet to speak legal matters its actually very chilled out. Im thankful for that, I know on that level the split is amicable. Its just *outside* of these matters that I need NOT to contact her. I was taught a lesson today and TBH had it coming.

Why didn't you say what you actually wanted to say to her at that point?

I just sensed the...disdain in her voice...and could hear traffic noise & people in the background etc...I could really sense that she was willing me to end the call ASAP.

Well Im not goin down THAT route again!
