****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

On Modaco ROM as of last night now. I chose various tweaks and omitted various bundled stuff via the free kitchen and flashed the update. Awesome now.

I will keep this ROM on for good until the next big thing. Paul is doing a KI4 2.3.5 update soon too.

So I have had this phone almost two weeks and I have to say...best phone I have ever owned!

Before I bought it I had some reservations ; battery, size, apps etc.... So I made sure I bought from O2 shop for the 14 days returns option. But the phone is fantastic! :)

On the O2 ROM at the moment so will be playing around with it at the weekend.

great will have a play now

just installed gingerbread keyboard, keys are definitely bigger than stock ones.

Much nicer keyboard in my opinion than any other I have used, I can type pretty damn quick on it now.

I tried to install CM7 65 last night but it kept getting stuck at the bootscreen looping the CM7 splash constantly, No matter what I did it would end up just doing that.

Went to Gingermod but didn't really like it all too much, On LeoMar mod now I like this one a lot, Especially the kitchen app. Everything is running nicely now & looks just how I want it to.

is my favourite too for typing except i always hit the . key instead of space so my texts end.up.like.this.all the.time which is rubbish. i've moved to touchpal keyboard which is pretty decent especially as it has both swype (which is slower as you only use 1 finger and is impossible with the phone on it's side to reach across the phone), normal mode and will even predict next word pretty accurately so you can almost wite whole text without typing much in. if it was possible to move the . key with the space key gingerbread be my favourite

Try wiping cache and factory reset and re-flash, mine did the exact same thing.

Great stuff. Thanks! Will do a bit more research. Shame that you have to fork out on new kit for something as simple as in-line controls though; I wonder if it's not something easily rectified via software/app update.

Works perfectly on my CM7 ROM.

Personally I use this though so I can use decent headphones which never have in line controls on them:

tap vol up: volume up
tap vol down: volume down
hold vol up: skip track forward
hold vol down: skip track back
plug in headphones: start playing music

Just flashed to DarkROM 2.3.5 and am liking it so far. Havent really had much of a look at it as am stuck working, so cant comment on how it pans out with battery life and camera functions, but the two things o do like so far about it are the old CRT lock effect, the fact you can now roll around the home screens and also the fact that when you set a picture for your wallpaper you have the choice of either stretching across all screens or just having it as one, wioth no scrolling wallpaper.

mate how do you get the free kitchen? it seems to imply you need to be a premium member, unless that is free?
