Cheers for the advice fellas... I'll look into the prices for some faster skt775 quads, I can't afford a full on upgrade and doubt I will for a while.
 
I'm not bragging, but I'm finding it incredibly easy to get kills on this. I don't know whether there isn't enough recoil, too much bullet damage, or what.

So far I have:

Kills 167
Deaths 66
K/D Ratio 2.53
 
Still getting a lot of weird flickers of terrain, same with a friend, different brand cards (nvidia and ati).
Also, still can't join specific squads :/
That and 70fps feels like 30.
Server that aren't full on browser but are, party join still bugged.
Beta, sure, but nothing much changed since alpha months ago, just a video options screen.

I'm finding the exact opposite... the shooting feels really laggy and delayed, like I'll fire the final bullet to kill someone and they're still alive on my screen for a good second before it registers and I get the points. Also, the aim seems to go everywhere and I can't see anything at all once I start shooting. It's horrible tbh.

Whether this is down to my system's performance or internet I'm not sure, but I have next to no problems with BFBC2 (except for the usual hitreg issues and hiccups in performance here and there)
 
If I do need a new PSU which is the best sort of value at OcUK at the moment?

Because if I do need one I'll come down tomorrow :)

By the way make sure you use 285.38 drivers those of you with Nvidia cards although it's probably been mentioned a lot before in this thread.

This game is really good once some of the bugs are ironed out it could absolutely maul MW3.

Agree with most of what's been posted although I didn't have much of a chance to play the alpha due to work. had some good fights and the reworking of the Mcom stations meant I was in one round for over 45 minutes which is great!

Not a huge fan of the unlocks as it means everyone ends up with the same kit at the same time. have unlocks costing 'points' of some sort so you can choose.

Origin import of friends doesn't work.

Battlelog is a GREAT idea, but I'd prefer to launch the game, then see servers and friends lists. By all means export this stuff to the browser based client but I want to launch the game, see who is online and where and join them to be on their side and ideally in their squad.

Can't say I've had much bother with hitboxes but the potential is there, it just needs a few tweaks and we'll be golden!
 
Couple of things that need looking at.

When people use you as a Spawn point, if you're taking cover them spawning on you can actually push you out of cover, they should spawn a bit further away from you to stop this.

That little radio beacon spawn point thing is tiny, you could literally hide this thing anywhere and it would be incredibly hard to find it. In a game earlier it was sitting in front of the Escalator in the subway and teammates were walking past it not even noticing it at all. A shotgun guy spawned on it and took out about 3 of our team from behind because of it. It should really be a bit bigger or have a blinking light on it or something, can't say i noticed anything on it that was Blinking. As it is currently i can see it being an incredible pain in the ass on some maps.

And on Asthetics.

US sniper skin looks pretty weird to say the least, looks as if he's wearing a Tea Towel. Russian Support Gunner almost looks like he's wearing either a modified Gimp mask, or a pair of his Wifes Knickers on his Face. :eek:

For those wishing to bind stuff to their mouse you might want to have a look at X-Mouse.

It's the first time I've used it but it allows you to bind keystrokes, or many actions to any available mouse buttons. It also allows you to create 'Layers' of commands so that you can have different setups for different applications. It also has hotkey capability so you can switch between the layers at will.

Still I think it's totally stupid that a game this close to retail comes with a half arsed control customisation.

Spoils the game for me when you can't work with the keys you like.
 
I know its a beta and all, and does look quite good at first glance - but is it me or are there quite a few texturing issues? I was watching someone else play and noticed quite often there seemed to be problems with seams between textures, poorly aligned textures, etc. and a lot of textures that could have done with depth i.e. brick work, stone walls, paving slabs, etc. looked quite flat and almost out of place.

There's a few, some gameplay issues too (which have no doubt been mentioned already).

The scope glare is ridiculous, and it seems to take a ton of hits to kill people (for me, anyway). Four shots with an SVD for a kill, two point blank headshot with an AK and it only done 25% damage etc.

I have found the same thing. Normally it takes me a while to get into a game before I start racking up the kills but in my first match I was dropping people left right and center. But I was dying quite a bit too. Trouble is its you just point and click. Recoil is never an issue. Very much "mouse over target, hold down button till target goes down."

Ended up 32/22 or something like that and way out ontop of the leaderboard.

The spawn camping by the defenders means that nobody is watching the objectives so getting to the street is much easier.

Battlelog can still suck a fat one though. Whilst I was waiting for the game to download Origin kept popping up and telling me people had stopped playing then about 30 seconds later they were playing again. So make sure you turn off Origin notifications to avoid any rage. Good to see that K/D has been replaced by W/L.

Also on the server I was on there seemed to be a lot of clipping your gun through walls going on. So you ended up being killed by someone hiding behind a wall or a massive slab of concrete.

Only gripe i have, which has already been pointed out, is the sniper scope glare, everything else i'm fine with.

Absolutely owning with the sniper rifle and moving forward, lethal weapon.
