I'm really impressed with the audio in this one, the 5.1 effect is massively better than BC2, really makes use of the separate channels effectively.

Popped round to a friends to see the beta.
Impressions are similar to what people above have been saying.
Graphics are dog, really poor. I mean we knew it would be nothing like the PC version but still :o no improvement at all over BC2.

Lol, really, what are people expecting? The 360 hardware is old now, there's no two ways about that. I think the likes of BC2 were already pushing the boundaries of what was possible, all they can do is go with a different art direction and implementation of effects (destructable objects/smoke/anti-aliasing etc).

The maps on BF3 are MASSIVE compared to what console gamers are used to. The amount of weapons, addition of vehicles, multiple routes around the map, amount of player models in any server at any time....... I still find it staggering that the xbox can manage this so well considering the hardware has been released for what, 5 years? And probably designed/created 6 years ago?!

Think the maps are good, better graphics and more colourful, the gameplay is just the same as BF2.
It's ok. I wouldn't call it groundbreakingly better thou'

Had an hour on the Beta last night and loved it, I'll prolly end up getting both the 360 and PC versions of the game. It is quite buggy but so was BFBC2 demo, the finished game felt a fair bit different.

Looking forward to larger maps, don't think Op Metro really does it justice.

For those 360 MOH owner without keys (this might have been mentioned already) you have to have played an on-line match of MOH to register it to your EA ID.

Played plenty of online games with it, and MOH is shown in the "my games" menu on my EA profile page. Bah...

I though BC2 looked great so I'm not too concerned if people are saying it is similar looking. What I want it for is the Battlefield experience.

I played the Alpha trial for a while when it was running and had good fun with it.

Got my 360 code yesterday. Tried connecting (admittedly only about 10 times) but couldn't. Will give it another go tonight.

Played a few games last night after getting the unable to connect to EA message a few times.

Game play is great. Seems a little faster than BC2 and able to move around the world/map easier.

I think the font size of the text could do with being a lot smaller, takes up to much of the screen.

The graphics are below BC2 in my eyes, hopefully they improve with the final "disk" version. Look at the soldiers faces when they kill you ! looks crap TBH. I am impressed with the lighting though !

Its only 1 map at the end of the day so got a lot more to see come final release.

Still a day 1 purchase for me and still the game i am most looking forward to all year :)

I'd agree to a point. Some of the graphics are better as you mention the lighting being one, player animation and the overall vista being others, but some of the textures are down and dirty. Walls and floors, sandbags and model skins are all fairly poor but hopefully they will be better at release, though usually I'm to busy dying to notice :)

As for the speed, it does seem people are playing it fast at the moment, which could be to do with the smallish, tight map. I'm finding if I play it a lot slower and actually with others moving and clearing, listening for footsteps I'm making a lot more kills.

Resurrecting with the medic is now no long a case of somewhere near will do, you seem to have to actually get somewhere near the torso with the paddles for it work.

Looking forward to trying this, don't forget guys, this is a BETA and they have probably only included low res textures as it's a download. Same was the case for BC2 and most demo's.

So the BETA is one map only, yet somehow I managed to spend 4 and a half hours playing it last night before I knew it had gone!

The game feels very much like Battlefield, I can understand however why people would say it feels like MoH/CoD but that is not the gameplay, it is the map. It is very big, mostly indoors with not much to blow up. However you have to remember this is only a small taste of the map selection, and it makes good sense to have a range of large outdoor vehicle maps and close combat indoor/outdoor maps.

I am very much looking forward to this, the only thing that let it down last night was again not the game, but that I had no way of communicating with my squad!

Jcb33.

I played the demo last night, had no issues getting games and never got kicked out of any games.
The only issue I had was joining mates in squads, it seemed to freeze at the loading screen then I had to restart.

I think its a massive improvment from the BC2, the sound effects are amazing, the bullet damage and smoke effects are unreal.

Cant wait to play it again tonight, There are a few glitchs but hey its a Beta what do you expect.

All in all realy impressed. :D

Has this ever been 100% proven as correct?

I find it very hard to believe that game makers would release sub-standard graphics in a demo, as this is what makes people decide to buy or not bother buying the game.

It always seems a crap excuse for naff graphics..."oh it's a demo, the final game wont be like this" same thing was said about the Forza 3 demo, and that turned out to be 100% accurate to the final game.

I was just wondering what the aiming is like?
I've heard a lot of MOH comparisons- i could not get to grips with moh's movement at all! seemed too clunky aiming when moving the controller between the x/y axis.(ps3)
Will be a major let down for me if it's the same.

I found the aiming spot on, but there is an option to change all aspects of your aiming in the beta, so it will obviously be in the final product.

In MOP in seems pretty fluid regarding the aiming.
