I've had one for a while, bought particularly for ARMA2. However, have now ditched it to go back to a Cyborg 3D Gold USB. Main reason is that the Hotas X is too bulky, if you play a mainstream shooter where you just want to "hop" into a jet, it's not suited, it's also too light and offers hardly any resistance. Cyborg 3D Gold USB is still the daddy for BF-style games :)

Just played Rush, My god its awful, its just so awful, the movement, its one of the most sniper friendly game I've played, its just awful :(

And then there is getting into a game, wtf is this origin crap all about.

I must have fell through the level at least 5 times in 2 games!

The movement has dramatically improved from BFBC2. You can actually strafe run in this game, just wait for the bigger maps. Keep an open mind, its a different style of game. It's like comparing F1 to Dirt - same idea, just different in its own respects and engine

I actually like Metro for some reason, i really don't know why, but after playing it yesterday, i like the map and i like Rush on BF:3, complete u-turn.

I'll give it another go tonight but the 1st impression are not good, attacking in metro, just seemed to turn into slaughter every time. :(

Burn the Heretic!

Thinking of getting my own server and setting a ping limit of 60. :D
Slot prices are unreal though!

Why do people join servers that have high ping for them? What's the point?
Sponges!

/rant over

Also 16 EU Caspian servers all full!

Get better :)

I've had some good Metro games, where we have made it all the way to the end.

Obviously its not a "Battlefield" map, but by the sounds of it, Caspian Border is, so give it time :)

ive noticed that too back in alpha, attacking on metro is so much harder than defending for some reason. maybe its the people i play with or im not contributing enough to the war... this always meant that the game finishes when we are still outside trying to get into the underground station...

-oh, and don't try to jump the gun and camp outside the underground station before the explosion happens... it doesn't end well...

It's pretty common for attackers to suffer in rush mode until people learn the maps more.

The attacking team is also more susceptible to dying horribly if there's a slight difference in skill.

I would say after playing the alpha, metro has become easy for the attackers, only lost one round last night as i joined a game about to finish,

Casp B is quality, didnt play it for very long at all, and it wont bother me if i dont get to play it again as it was just nice to get to have a wander round, get a feel for the conquest mode in BF3 and watch the jets fly around and the queue to steal one as long as its always been :D

It felt huge, full of detail and really beautiful level design, and yet 90% of the time i was on foot and it never felt too far to run from one flag to another.

Didnt see any Air to surface combat from the jets, im guessing perhaps they havent yet unlocked the items to do this, so they're fully occupied with shooting other jets. Heli's looked good, managed to shoot one down with an APC so they dont seem particularly overpowered (nor will they with proper Anti-Air weapons - FINALLY), and when getting a ride in one later on they seem reasonably powerful, still think they have a bit too much splash damage though.

Things are looking very good, even though there are some issues with bugs at Metro, and my game flicking between 640x480 windowed (or similar) and full screen and back again when i click on the app/game and try to deploy, before 2-3 attempts causes it to crash :(
Im sure it'll get ironed out though, so im not spitting my dummy out and moaning, its a beta, you gotta accept these things.

Guys, can someone tell me what all the elements of the HUD in the jet do? Have I got this right (saved from DG's video)?

Direction Change = Flight Path Marker (FPM) Angle of attack, Pitch.
Crosshair is most likely cannon and the circle is for AA missles (has to be inside to lock on)
