Supreme Commander & Forged Alliance on Steam

£5 for the gold edition (retail box), no doubt it will be £20 or something on Steam :p

No source? The game's not been touched in ages, multiplayer is done through GPGnet, so I'd be suprised if this actually happened. Wouldn't complain, mind.

To be fair, that's pretty much the same price as all the other digital distribution systems. If it drops down to £5 then I'd probably grab it anyway, for the 'having it on steam' benefit. Still not sure how gpgnet will work with it though.

Just a heads up, FA on steam does not use GPGnet at all. Instead its now all done through the game. It is also running patch 1.6.6 which is apparently very similar, if not the same, to patch 3603 which only ever recieved a beta release and couldn't be used on GPGnet.

People who have the steam version can only play against the steam version. It also lacks the GPGvault, since this obviously required them to go through gpgnet.

That sounds a little ****?

No reason why it cannot run through GPGnet at all assuming GPGnet is still going.
