Password you say, what password!

Use Google Chrome as your default browser
Start BF battlelog server browser

Hit SHIFT+CRTL+J

copy paste
launcher.verifyPassword = function(game, gameServerGuid, plaintextPassword, callback) { callback(true); }

press enter

select server – don’t enter a password – i.e. leave password field blank -

go play! without the need for any password

It's really easy to get onto Caspian server. Just select any server and just click join game, paste password hit enter and repeat, just keep spamming it and it will let you in after about 10-15 tries. The map is ugly as **** though.
 
I'd like to say two things to players of this game.

1)If your HUD says someone is spawning on you then if possible make it a safe place to for them to do so. In other words, if you can make space for other players in the area you are in then do so. Or stop running and find cover, don't go for the "over the top" charge into certain death if some is going to spawn on you.

2) TURN YOUR TORCHES OFF

Just downloaded the beta but everytime I click play it opens a browser which doesnt actully load anything :S Help !
 
Is this really supposed to be the next big thing graphically. I just tried my first 10 minutes on it on Metro and i think it looks pretty naff. I would go as far to say that Crysis 2 looked better :confused:

Seriously dissapointed especially after some of the amazing footage we have seen in various trailers.

I was expecting a "wow!" far cry or crysis moment.....

4850 512mb, slightly OC'd.
Win 7 64 bit/latest ati preview drivers

And surprisingly I can run it at 1280*1024, everything set to low on a 32 player server and it is very playable, if I put the same settings in BC2 it will run worser although BC2 will look better I think the way they've implemented the scaling for older systems is very good.

Next step, see how high I can crank it up at a playable FPS.

So those worrying about they're setup need to chill, my PC was built over 3 years ago and can still play it smoothly.

Not many these days want to play at those settings
 
The reason for locking of servers is two-fold.

Firstly is so that people don't swamp the servers all day long and sit there hogging a slot. Yes, you get booted at the end of a round. Plus it seems that only Multiplay are doing the testing of the hardware to see how it performs, so they've sent some big backhanders to DICE/EA for that.

Guess where people will pre-order from if they see the servers are running well??? ;)

Secondly & possibly most importantly. Hype.

Restricting the access to something, makes people interested & want more. Especially after playing. It's like being a drug addict and the supplier with us players being the junkie. Drip feed the access just enough to keep people wanting more and you keep the hype machine rolling.

Apart from the issues with the code (which they are fixing or have already fixed, DICE and EA are being very clever with their marketing. Even if it does **** off a few people.

Remember folks, the beta code we're playing on doesn't have a lot of fixes that DICE have already implemented into their Final code which we'll not see until release.

Oh & for feedback, it's best to use the Forums within Battlelog than in here or the EA UK forums.

And what are your graphics options set to?

Caspain is graphically superior. The metro map has a rather washed out look.
