My graphics card fans speed up with the menu and in-between round information screens more than the actual game itself.
The game itself runs very well although the contrast is too high in wooded areas with lots of shadows, the colours are quite deep as well, just like my granny has her television adjusted, bright green grass etc, lol

Caspian Border is a bit of a bitch to get running smoothly, managed to sort it out, disabled AA ingame and forced it through RadeonPro, problem is, the map keeps crashing for me after a minute or so, so it's unplayable for me now.

Nvm, fixed it, rubberbanding a lot though and just been told to install the 11.10 drivers, as someone with the same setup as me is getting 55fps all on max.

You mentioned the exact problem Im having, Metro works fine never crashes unless the server dies, with Caspian however running in XF mode doesnt matter what settings I change ingame I will always CTD within about 3 minutes of joining the map, sometimes within the first 10 seconds, sometimes after 3 minutes.

Disabling XF sorts the issue for me and I dont have any more CTD but caspian lags like a bitch for me.

You mentioned you'd sorted it out. What did you do? :(

Anyone else getting problems just downloading it?

If your having problems, download it from elsewhere and then put it in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3 Beta.

Make a backup copy of the files, just in case something happens to them (my client deleted them the first time I tried) - then restart Origin, it should see your battlefield beta as 100% downloaded and give the option to install.

This is what I had to do because Origin was playing up yesterday.

every time i try to get into a server it gets to initializing then just disappears, cant get into any game, also it says hit alt+enter and go to full screen but it wont do it,anyone else had this cheers

Try disabling UPnP on your router, this fixed all connection issues for me.

With regards to the full screen issue, I also had this and it turned out that Teamviewer running in the background was causing the problem. Do you have Teamviewer installed? (It's a remote desktop application).

If so, exit it and you should be able to go full screen.

If not, close down other software running in the background as it may cause conflicts.

Just downloaded it though Origin last night and it maxed out my connection. Installed no problem and once I had updated my display drivers (AMD) then had no problems getting on to Caspian after a couple of refreshes of the server list.

Yes this makes sense a suddent 10/20FPS drop, it feels like a Ram problem but could be this I suppose?

Yeah, could be VRAM. I'd happily get the next gen GPUs but at the moment my 5850s seem to have the potential to play this almost full whack.

Looking at the fps graph in Afterburner I've noticed that the big drop outs coincide exactly with a drop in usage on one of the gpus, always #2 I think. That leads me to think the driver just needs tweaking. The random lag on some of the servers is making it difficult to diagnose as well.

I see some people are saying to try vsync so I will give that a go later. It usually introduces mouse lag though so I'm not a big fan.
