Fair well Bad Company 2

I think BC2 and BF3 are so different enough that I will actually carry on with both. There's a charm to BC2 that's lacking a little in the more laser-focused mil-sim nature of BF3, and the environmental interactions have been pared down massively in favor of increased graphical fidelity. From what I've seen and played of BF3, it's no longer possible to obliterate buildings or detonate your way through walls anymore, and that's a massive loss. You can't even shoot sandbags out of the way.

They both have their pros and cons.

Farewell!

Im actually excited about booting from the browser etc as bc2 took ages to get on and sign in and then updating stats after every quit etc!

One thing i hope bf3 gets is the ability to choose squads so i can team up with friends! (or am i being stupid and missing this feature?)

Its the only game I've ever played where I enjoyed playing support classes far more than assault classes. My favorite thing ever is to swing a game by putting in a proper medic performance.

That said I did get sick of the rocket launchers after a while.

Favourite moments have to include taking out the pilot of the chopper that's hovering off the island racking up huge kills. Watching it drop out of the sky like a stone and splat! Four kills :D

One of my favourite setups was recon with the silenced sniper rifle and a red dot scope. Used to sit there in a bush deep in enemy territory clocking up the kills with people having NO IDEA where they were getting shot from and C4'ing passing vehicles all while giggling like a lunatic.

It's not perfect of course, but on a good server you won't have too many annoyances. Plus it even runs on my onboard graphics at 1680x1050 med-high :p

That game is almost perfection after playing Caspian border looks like dice are going in the right direction. I'm glad they have moved away from Bad Company and are heading back to the roots of BF.

Lol I loved setting up shop and having C4s ready to reek havoc on passers by

My favourite moment on BF2: Flying a blackhawk back to base after dropping few troops on dragon valley I run into Chinese gunship! (lucky he has no gunner) I switch between gunner & pilot seats to stable the helicopter and shoot him with the mini gun I could not keep it for long with his pod rockets hitting me so I had to eject, as I was parachuting I managed finish him off with my RPG :)

Ugh! I can't stand players like you! I hate recons/snipers altogether in every game really because they're not balanced no matter which way you look at it, especially in BC2 where they're given binoculars, rifles that can kill you from the other side of the map, mortar which can wipe you and your squad, as well as tanks out - even though they can already do so from the other side of the map - and C4 which takes out a tank easily, especially as snipers are camouflaged so they can sneak up next to your tank anyway.

I'm not a hypocrite, so I never play sniper. I don't think I got even the first unlock for recon in bc2

I wouldn't mind snipers in these games if it was a bit more realistic, ie.

No handy water tower / crane / ruined skyscraper in EVERY SINGLE MAP!

If it wasn't guaranteed point and kill over any distance. Wind, bullet drop and velocity should make it something that takes real skill, and makes dropping a moving target almost impossible.

Until the BF2 servers\players drop off significantly I think I'll stick with it.

I can't say I've found sniping too easy in BF2, even when there's no bullet drop and the map is urban. Usually tanks and AT guys will spam the crap out of your hiding place when they notice, or an enemy sniper will return fire. Not to mention helos on the larger maps...

Yeah that would help even the odds, right now I'm often in mid-air when I get headshot by a sniper on the other side of the bloody map. You also get them all congregating on the hill in groups so your entire squad gets pinned in one spot then they just drop mortar and you're screwed.
