BTW, why should I pay more tax for extra police on the streets? If poor people want more police and don't want to be shot they should pay the extra cost themselves.

Guns arn't going to help. American youth are raised to have a little more respect. Even in the impoverished ethnics area's. You'll still hear them saying yes sir, yes mam at silly things such as buying a loaf of bread. It's that slight change in attidude that makes all the difference in my opinion. Yes there are instances of violent crime in NY, but you can bet the person will probably have a little more respect when apprehended, compared to the typicall young scroat in England.

That's my opinion. Having lived on both continents. The youth over here have more respect to the law and elders, and changing them to be more law abiding was an easier proposition.
 
reduce the amount of paperwork involved.

use HD head mounted camera's for evidence.

use the isle of white as a prison island, fence it in lay mines in the water and let them live feral like the animals they acted like.

Just because someone says "yes sir" or "yes mam" doesn't mean a thing. Some of the worlds worst serial killers were well spoken and eloquent.

You're more likely to say "yes sir" and have a bit more respect when apprehended by a cop with a gun on his hip. Hell, you're likely to be more genial with anyone in possession of a firearm. I'm sure the young scroat in London would give less back chat if he had a firearm pointed at him.

We don't have the resources, even less so since all the budget cuts. American policing budgets are massive, you only have to look at their equipment and vehicles to see that.

In any case, ZTP has been done various times before and whilst it's effective at tackling low-level crime, it isn't suddenly going to cause shootings to stop.
 
It's completely baffling, after all, one article I read said they have planted yew trees and a herb garden there recently to try and curb the violence problems in the area, I don't understand how someone could do something so reckless in light of the councils sterling efforts to reduce this sort of thing with herb gardens.
 
Its because they banned fox hunting where are these kids expected to let off steam ?

So you don't think culture has anything to do with it? Why do such a disproportionate number of black people come from the low-income group in the first place?

Funnily enough, I've seen lots of people on my travels living in much harsher poverty than the "deprived" people here, and they certainly don't seem to feel the need to go out shooting/robbing/stabbing.

Moral vacuum tbh.

Poverty is a cycle unfortunately, and it just seems that they need to break the cycle.

Just the same as I've seen loads of black people who aren't criminals. Relevance? None.

Don't be a fool, I'm not saying that all poor people are criminals or anything like that. I'm merely pointing out that race isn't a cause of crime, but poverty is.
