Gonna have around 80k when Mata sells to start my Serie A squad. Only spent fiver on packs + my 4 free packs! Got lucky with some decent players

Feel kinda sad inside.

When are the pure player packs coming out? Only get 4 players just now.
 
The snow is just stupid. I don't have an Orange ball in My UT so so I could barely make it out and the referee looks like a player in that brightness =/
 
Picked this up yesterday, trying to get used to the tackling/defending system. Does anyone have any good advice on when to use the jockey and when to use the contain? What do you use to get in to a good position for the tackle?

dont use contain at all, use team mate contain, then track the runners with the player you controll. easy :), master that and you wont be beat, also dont slide often only if you really need too, just use standing tackle, i havnt lost a game in about 20 games, ive lost 9 which were out of my controll :(. currently 31-15

I never really use contain to be honest, just use jockey and the team mate one and wait for them to make a mistake. I'm not fantastic but I've done pretty well with that so far; also, try not to use the tackle button unless you're sure you'll get the ball otherwise you just commit and they'll just walk past :)

Only playing the game will give you an idea when to tackle. Just keep learning and practice.

Get used to when players will likely make turns and block him from doing it. Can only really learn this from experience.

I tend to use the cpu to chase the ball and manually man mark players that are in good posistions.
 
I only really started playing UT in FIFA 11, how exactly are you meant to get a decent squad without spending any real money? Initially I guess you need to play a handful of games to get some coins to start trading with, but to get anywhere near enough coins for buying anything half decent to sell on your players will have ran out of contracts before that point, forcing you to spend your winnings on contracts.

How do you guys do it? And by you guys I mean the ones who play the game using no real life money at all. :p
 
Just bought a load of gold players for like 300 and then when they've got one conract left sell them on for a (possible) profit and replace them with someone as cheap.

That way the money you make from playing is saved up rather than used up on ndless contracts. Obviously you have to play a few games at the start to get a couple of thousand.

I am also trying (rather ham-handedly admittedly) to buy and resell players; seems easier and most effective doing it with PL players.

Only way to do it is to get lucky and spend all day looking for good deals or grinding out buying low - selling high and make 100c profit each time. Do that for 5 hours a day and you'll soon have enough for Darren Bent. Once you buy him, you just do it again.

The people you see with amazing teams most likely bought it or got lucky in packs.

and yea, replacing players with 1 contract less works but is so tedious. To be honest, I just want to enjoy the game without spending hours on the market.

Good games mate. Seems like you were getting the hang of shooting in the last few games. I was shocked to see your La Liga team, pretty immense. Serie A wasn't too bad either.

I'm really trying to resist not buying any packs and just build a squad through my winnings and trading but with the likes of Neymar, Pato at 40k+ I don't see that happening. :(
