Especially after having played few rounds and gotten used to the gameplay, it becomes easier to shoot enemies and more flexibility can be applied with regard to strategy and movement

They need to really slow down rankings/weapon unlocks - it needs to take longer to earn like BF2, rather than BFBC2.

Based on BFBC2 ranks and my score per minute it would have taken me 4 hours of playtime to get to level 6 in BFBC2, which is a third of the rank I am in BF3 which has 3 times the level cap of BFBC2. So BF3's level progression is slower than BFBC2.

BF2's level progression was a bit too slow. After 465 hours I was only 2nd Lieutenant with only 7 gold badges, 9 silver and 3 bronze.

I'm just downloading the beta on ps3, hope it's playable.

I tried the beta drivers with my 5870 and performance was worse than using the 11.9s so I reverted back. However it seems as though my card is slowly dying - both DVI ports are gone, the HDMI port is slowly breaking and it could never overclock to even 900Mhz.

Doesn't matter as I've got 2 6950 Toxics on the way. Would have got 2 GTX 570s but they were an extra £100 altogether so it was an easy decision in the end (yes I found the Toxics for £200).

Do you think a 5870 will cope on high settings at 1920x1200?

I'm quite surprised at how it runs on Ultra (everything max) at 1920x1080 on this system and yet I have to tone down the AA to get decent framerates for Arkham Asylum.

My 5850 does just that at 1680x1050 so probably but I havn't tried caspian yet which is apparently much harder on the FPS

Yes, depending on your settings. I've been playing the beta at 1920x1200 on a Q6600 at 3.2, 4gb of ram and an ATI 5870 with the core at 1000.
I had shadows set to low everything else high, AA and HBAO off and AF x8, FOV edited to 90, get approx 50-60 fps outside and 70-80 inside on Metro. Game plays lovely and smoother.
