Faulty SSD?

Intel X-25M and Asus p8p67 pro.

First of all application stopped responding for period of a minute, desk apps, games etc..

Then I had problems with a corrupt o/s so reloaded windows many times.

Occasionally the SSD is not detected in BIOS.

Now I've just run chkdsk from the windows GUI on the drive (installed o/s on a mechanical drive for now). When chkdsk had finished the drive had disappeared from 'My Computer'.

I'm going to see if I can get it back to run the intel SSD toolbox - but it does sound pretty screwy.

Any thoughts? The hard drive has the latest firmware.

Have you put the drive on it's own SATA channel? Use the first port and put everything else on the other ports. So for example on my rig I have my Vertex 2E on SATA port 1, whilst the HDD and DVD burner are on 3 and 4. Might be worth doing a BIOS update also if one is available.
