Female body builders, just why?

Female body builders are OK as long as they still look like women. (The one posted earlier clearly doesn`t).

although i'd choose sports fitness physique over body built every time, the bone protrusion on this girl is mighty off putting

You are put off by the hip bone of the female body? That must mean you don`t like slim girls in general? What a weird thing to say. There are plenty of areas on both males and females where the bone is very much noticeable since it`s right under the skin. I never heard someone say: `Urgh, look at the elbow on that one!`

I've spoken to friends who get turned on by elbows, some people will hate them.

At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference? Why try to understand it?

right ok

Female bodybuilders are damn ugly and aren't even women. Irrc they tend to inject themselves with testesterone steroids (male hormones), taking away all feminine qualities.

That's a bit of a sweeping statement don't you think? There's also a distinction to be drawn between physique and fitness (and/or figure) in terms of female bodybuilding - physique is the more muscular and "cut" style which is probably what you're thinking of, for fitness the emphasis is on retaining a more "feminine" look so the look is slightly less defined and more curved.

Some competitors do take a variety of drugs and supplements to achieve the results they get but it is far from all of them, there are competitions specifically for natural athletes where they are tested for certain substances.

I'm usually not that keen on the look of the physique bodybuilders but I can't help but respect the huge amount of effort that goes into it or indeed any bodybuilding when it is taken beyond a casual level.

I just think it is not a normal thing for women to do, and looks disgusting.

Any opinions on male bodybuilding?

is kwerk away finding pics of his muscular physique? which he attained through no working out what so ever?

we demand to see a spoon and kwerk written somewhere in the picture.

To be fair to a lot on here a labourer (proper one that lugs paviers and sand all day) could very well get a physique similar the 4chan and bodybuild site example guy IF they also dieted and watched their body fat. There are plenty of young labourers that look like that. On the other hand the greased up "olympian" would never be able to get that soft of physique through manual labour.

So many people seem to be getting toned and bodybuilder (at least my definition) mixed up. Toned to me means 6pack and "nice" abs' arms and legs, nothing you would necessarliy look twice at with a t shirt on. On the other hand a bodybuilder is the know of guy that has arms the size of your neck, a neck the size of your waist and for some reason is generally short...
The former can easily be achieved out of the gym by manual labour, the latter no chance.

Probably roids before they're done growing or something, or just spending all their energy in the gym. It's kinda like how gymnasts are short through the same reasons.

Actually something else that doesn't seem to have been touched on with the kwerk issue is height... I am 10lb lighter than that bodybuilder posted yet am called skinny and don't have his physique even though I only have a few % bodyfat. Why? Because I'm probably a few inches taller than him...

Maybe. I just assumed it was short man syndrome, can't get taller so lets get wider... And the height issue coming in, is looking more disproportionate due to being smaller compared to a taller guy with the same size arms.

EDIT: I used to work in a gym for a couple of years and the thing that got me about the actual bodybuilders was they rarely, if ever, did cardio whereas the smaller "toned" guys generally spent just as long on the treadmills and rowing machines as they did with the free weights.

Yeah, the actual bodybuilders hate cardio because you can't have endurance and insane strength/mass at the same time. It's one or the other really.

At the top of the ranks you'll find shorter bodybuilders more often as they can lift more weight due to the shorter range of movement and less protein intake required. Wouldn't really say it's short man syndrome.

I'm only about 5'6 so I get results fast, even though I'm an ecto/mesomorph. (Wish I was taller though. Oh well, still got until I'm 21/25)

Not a fan myself though I guess with stuff like this its the extremes that are really unattractive (as with super skinny and super fat chicks too) - I guess I'd prefer a woman who did some body building over a fat chick though - at least it is exercise (albeit slightly misguided exercise).

The fitness model thing is cool though still a bit too ripped/less feminine - IMO the hottest girls I've known have all been dancers. Dance classes + cardio = super hawt female figures...
