Female body builders, just why?

My missus is super lean and defined. She actually has an eight pack if clenched, and that's after two kids... She's slim petite but very defined. She knows that any more and I'd go yuck.. So does not work out other than cycling or running. She'll tell you what 95% of other women will tell you.. Bodybuidlers do nothing for her.

EVERYONE WHO GOES TO THE GYM FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING MUSCLE TO THEIR FRAME IS A 'BODYBUILDER'.

The type of bodybuilder your missus doesnt get turned on by happens to be a freak show of this group of people.

The average human cannot assimilate that much protein in one meal. Excess protein is usually stored as fat or excreted out. Approx 50g of protein per meal is the accepted max i think nowadays.

BTW to get 100g of protein out of a portion of meat you must be taking in a lot of meat, which will probably take forever to digest anyway.....hence your body shape? Not trying to be personally offensive kwerk, but dude you gotta think before you start typing. Most of what you are saying is non-sensical based on non-knowledge.

I said 150g of protein from real food a DAY is easy, and as an example of how easy it is said I can do 100g in one sitting without problem. I never said anything about absorbing it all. That's a 16oz steak. Two 8oz steaks broken up would be even easier.

And out of interest what authority is this 50g number coming from?? Internet forums or some proper studies?

How long does it take to digest a large serving of meat? Especially fatty meat?

How long does it take to absorb a bunch of microlized whatever the hell super whey powder?

Call me ignorant but I'll make an educated guess that you'll utilize a higher percent from the meat that sits in your gut tract for hours and hours.

Take normal protein before and after the gym, and then some casein at night or on 'off' days.

You're ignorant, the biological value or the amount of usable protein the body can get from the protein in a foodstuff is almost 100% for whey and only 75%ish for beef.

Guy 2 eats 1lb (assume 100g protein) of of fatty beef that takes 10 hours? to fully digest.

Which guy pees out the most protein?

It's the same principle as the glycemic index. You're the kind of guy that claims a snickers bar gives you more of a sugar rush than potatoes because it's full of 'simple' carbs.
 
My opinion is women like lean attractive men. Like a dude from a Gillette ad. Even a little bulk isn't bad.. Some are confusing being lean or having a little bulk as bodybuilding. When they get to big ripped / not realistic, that's when they've gone too far. My opinion is bodybuilders look GAY and are very shallow. I have absolutely no respect for them at all. Even taking into consideration the time and effort its taken.. Yes you have an abnormal amount of strength. But you look like a right dork.. And most women unless they're the bimbo type think so too. erm... I would say all the protein is absorbed in both cases, the whey is absorbed fast, the beef is absorbed slow. I don't really get the point.

To put it another way how much is actually used for tissue repair compared to peed out or turned to fat.

To say that most women dislike bodybuilders is ridiculous, considering that a lot of them would love a guy out of these CK adverts, etc. and they don't get their bodies from sitting at home all day...

If you pee out more than trace amounts either way I'd be getting down to the Dr's.
Protein utilization is a bell curve there is obviously an optimum amount that promotes muscle growth but if your body needs it to build muscle it will use it to build muscle never mind how long its been sat in your gut.
I'd claim that potato would give you the bigger insulin response purely because the snickers contains a fair amount of fat which would slow digestion and therefore give a more stable rise in blood sugar levels.

I am from the UK and my opinion is the same as it was in the UK. As for my missus, she's British too, and eats and drinks as she feels. Doesn't pig out, but can get away with breakfast, lunch and dinner along with an occasional bar of chocolate here and there and sinking a couple of beers a night.

lol, no, i just have no appreciation for shallow 'look at me' individuals.. A bit like a woman who's had large fake boobs. My impression of a bodybuilder is someone who bowls around with an attitude thinking that every fella wants to look like them.. Which is simply not true, apart from the likes of Psycho Sonny and a few other over the top buffoons.

If you are saying, if a guy has a six-pack then he's a bodybuilder, including a CK guy, then that statement doesn't apply... The bodybuilder I'm talking about is the one in that its clearly visible with clothing on, that the guy has gone over the top.

i could post a leg shot, if you come up with a legitimate reason, showing calve flexed and unflexed and quadricep too.

Just my opinion. Sorry that it sounds bitter, i'm really not a bitter person. I also like my keep fit. I've been going to many different gyms near enough everyday both in the UK and USA, for the last 20yrs and i personally dedicate 1 & 1/2 hrs every day to doing some form of excercise, with an hr of that in a gym, and it doesn't matter which continent, bodybuilders all seem to be dickheads. Yeah there's probably the occasional ok'ish one somewhere.. But I've yet to come across one. I much prefer working out in a gym where the bodybuilders are stuck away in a different room or a corner by themselves. You'll also find there's very little totty lurking around in those parts of the gym... ;) Yet, the male bodybuilders still don't get it and think all the women want them???

The problem is there is a line, where do you draw it?

Do you say anyone that uses weights is a bodybuilder? In which case 99% of people that go to the gym (and probably 99% adults as a whole at some point in their lifetime) are bodybuilders.

Do you say someone who uses weights as part of a general fitness regime is a bodybuilder? Someone for example that spends an hour or more doing cardio then tacks on 20-30 minutes at the end with mid weight weights.

Do you say people that spend most of their time in a gym in the free weights area? People that do very little of anything else.

Personally I'd suggest the last is the only bodybuilder in those three. Several people in here seem to suggest that all would be considered bodybuilders... Then there are the several people (me included at one point) who do the second option, using weights as a a small part of a general fitness regime, they (and I) don't appear to think they are bodybuilders.

While obviously you can't have everyone separated into three nice seperate sections my experience at the gym was that only the last group were the traditional meatheads. Now I'd assume that women generally prefer the middle option as well. Nice physique, with some nicely showing muscle in the right places and lowish bodyfat, not the bulging neck muscles and huge arms.

EDIT: And in the context of this thread "bodybuilder" certainly seems to be defined as the third group, with the female fitness models being the equivilent of the second group.
