Squads aren't being changed (for now)

The bugs in this version of the beta don't exist anymore since this is an old build, so no bugs have actually been fixed due to this "beta".

Next? Oh is that it? They fixed clipping and* Battlelog? ****ing amazing how much a "beta" can improve so much just in time for release.

Ok, so what would you like DICE to so kindly provide in your BETA. I am intrigued by your expectations.

I noticed on the awards page in Battlelog there are ribbons for 'Finish a Squad Rush round', 'Win a Squad Rush round' etc.
How will 'squad' rule-sets differ from normal rule-sets if they keep the squad management as it is?, or is it like 4v4 or something?.

For me it would make sense to keep regular rush as random squad and use squad specific server rule-sets that allow you to join only as a full squad with your friends etc, would be ideal for clan(platoon) battles and such.

People that say flashlights are overpowered, well um.. most people leave them on = see them coming. Those that are smart toggle them :D, only use it on my backup pistol.

Yeah most guns are OP so much that little to no skill is required to get one or even multiple kills, the UMP is one such gun. Some need added recoil on full auto.

Im thinking of opening a flashlight and gun optics store seeing as i have so many of them....These unlocks are retarded, unlocking the same **** over and over is getting annoying.

needs a rage unlock ... oh , its ok its already enabled ;)

Whos raging? Its called stating facts. Dice have just done this to be able to claim a large amount of unlocks in the game. I wouldnt mind if they were all different, but even shotguns can get sniper sights, holo sights, etc. Whats the point of that?, just to boost their unlock count.

is it to please the COD players ?

God knows, they just went bat **** crazy in this game with unlocks, shoulda seen this was coming after bc2 and the bare bones behicles you started off with.

Well lets do it this way
Lets say for instance I am now a developer at DICE, I am in charge of running the BETA. This is how I'd do it:

  1. 2 Months long beta, the first 2 weeks would be exclusive to the MoH:LE owners
  2. The BETA build I would use would not be an old build riddled with bugs, but instead a newer, polished build. It's imperative that the first impression people get of the game is something worthy of being GOTY, not full of corpses with extruding necks crawling along the floor, damage bugs for people running, falling through the floor, lag and whatever else.
  3. Getting feedback on all game modes and more than 1 map, for example if you use Metro as an for weapon balance, it's very skewed towards certain weapons and not others due to the layout of the map, whilst in other maps the results may be very different, so it's hard to tabulate results fairly and looking into the weapon balance isn't going to prove wise until it's done on a range of maps. Same with vehicles and whatever else. So I'd make it every 2nd week there is a new game mode on a new map, so lots of different aspects of the game are being tested all at once. Weeks 1+2 could be Metro for the MoH:LE owners, weeks 3+4 could be Caspian Border conquest, weeks 5+6 would be team deathmatch on another map, with the final 2 weeks 7+8 all of the 3 above being open to everyone. It gives a massive range of results which are much easier to look into fairly, than 1 maps worth which could prove to be falsely identifying weapons being over or under powered.
  4. Patching fixes and optimizations into the game during play, showing you're actually looking into issues users are having and pushing out temporary fixes to see if the issues are resolved or are worsened. For all we know with THIS BETA, it could be badlly unoptimized and giving people very mixed results on their hardware. If people can barely play the BETA on their hardware due to it being badly optimized, they're not going to sink money into it.
  5. Patching in some of the requested things people want to show at least they're in the works and can be used, instead of being secretive about them, ala commo-rose and a proper squad management system.

DICE has left it far too late to set up a proper BETA to push out temp fixes and get real feedback, this is what is annoying to people, and if it was truly a BETA, they wouldn't be using an old build of the game, they would be using their latest and greatest to see if any new bugs occur so they can fix them before release. It's very much them just stress testing the servers and calling it a BETA to shut people up. Why people can't see this, I don't know.
