Impossible Achievements

I wonder if anybody will actually get the achievement without cheating it looks impossible, I can see one problem and that's shutting down the servers before you can achieve half of those onyx medals!

Lost Planet2 is even harder you need to put in over 1000 hours to max all the achvs out! Few have it legit. Its beyond ridiculous  I like achievements as much as anyone but the dificulty is inconsistent so making a few almost impossible vs some are way too easy devalues the entire Live achievement system.

LOL, why would anyone want to waste so much time on one acheivement worth 100G?

i bet somone will get it though even if it does take 2 years, but like JoeBoi said the servers would probably be shut down before anyone finishes it. for seriously 3.0 id want 3000G + free bonus stuff from future epic games, i think thats fair.

I was playing Fallout: NV last night, trying to blast though it quickly as I couldn't be arsed putting in another 200 hours like I did Fallout 3 and then I realized it had become more like hard work and so gave up on trying to 100% it. Theres so much to play now a days its simply not worth trying to chase every single achivement, especially those were you have to play it in a less enjoyable way. For example in NV theres achievements for different weapon styles and I got the Sword one and then thought "well now I have to change weapon to get the others... but hang on a second I WANT to keep using my swords... **** the achievements!" lol.

That's a bad example IMO. FO:NV rewards multiple playthroughs with multiple character types.

yeah fair enough but to an already massive game thats still quite a time commitement. Just trying to show that sometimes achievements can seem like hard work rather than adding to the experience.

Multiple play throughs shouldn't really be used with games this big IMO.

If you want the achivements...

I'm sure you can find a list of easy games that you can scam some easy 1000s out of.

I want achievement points to add to the experience of games I'm interested in. Numerous games implement there achievements well without resorting to cheap tactics.

the horrible achievements are multi-player ones, some single player achievements are annoying as well, like the Seriously achievements mentioned before, 10,000 multi-player kills, seriously? 100,000 kills, seriously?! just wish developers would stop being idiots and stop putting idiotic achievements that can only be attained by a gamer who has no life outside of the game, the only way one gets ones like that is by playing it constantly...!

Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare II had pretty decent achievements, all single player and special ops in II, all achievable (the only difficult one is the Mile High Club one from the first game!), hoping they don't add any multi-player achievements to the third game since I have the other two 100%.

another example of an irritating achievement, Assassins Creed, find all the flags and that sort of thing! arghh!

It depends on the game. An RPG inherently includes numerous paths and choices, so it makes sense that the achievements will reflect this.

The GOW3 cheevo is silly to say the least. I know i'll never get it, but it doesnt stop me playing the game.

My biggest gripe is that you can complete a game and only get 150G-200G for it. Every other achievement is wrapped up in Mulitplayer or other random things.

Yeah I see where your coming from. I think Oblivion, Enchanted Arms and Lost Oddyssey had good achivements though as well. Basically story related ones and side quests which you could do at any point.

To me re-playing a game like Fallout just to play with a pistol say isn't really worth the time required to do that for a minor difference in gameplay.

Yeah multiplayer achievements arn't usually very good as it stops the flow of how people are meant to play the game in many cases.

really really hate online achievements.

if your late to the game then you basically cant get them because people dont play it any more.

hardest ive got was the 'kick the bucket award' to complete Jordan on expert in GH2.
