I havent spent a penny on UT packs but every time I use coins its tempting to use 120 msp instead!

Dunno if its beacuse its the week now but things were selling a higher a few days ago, Wilshere was going for upto 20k but now its more 15k :/ same with others dropping in price...

Fwiw I'm talking about the ridiculous teams that would cost 1mil+ coins to build

Anyway, I guess there's an exception to every rule, but nearly every superstar team I've played so far has been far easier to beat than the "regular" teams, mostly kids with silly names like ioi HeAdShoT u LoL ioi :p
 
Don't buy them have heard it isn't worth it as you only ever get mid 70's gold players I got 18 with my special edition opened the first three and also got crud players like 3 and loads of cards they forgot to mention that the free gold packs weren't all player packs.

I am new to ultimate team never played it last year I have a question.
If you don't have enough players to start a game say you need some contracts for your bench or whatever but don't have enough coins what are you supposed to do ? do you get coins after waiting a day or something ? or you have simply gone bust and you must sell players and buy cheap ?

You have to sell players in order to afford contracts.
 
I agree that it is tempting and addictive buying packs, i spent a fiver last night and got a load of rubbish other than Evra, which i sold for 18k.

Im not gonna get my team any better than 80 odd without buying more packs so im just gonna play games and get money together, I think its more fun that way rather than wasting money on packs, it did frustrate me last night, got to the semi's in a tournament with good play only to come up against a guy who's team was rated about 87, he was rubbish but narrowly managed to beat me.

because he's using the back button and letting the AI defend for him with a superstar team.

You dont win contracts no, only in packs, they sell for 150 mosty of the time anyhow, even gold ones. Theyre rock bottom prices at the moment. Plus when you get a lot of shiny managers stored in your club with contract bonus % each card gives even more games so add that to people who buy packs with msp and you have contracts galore¬!

They come in packs too, even the lower (cheaper) ones so you can use coins won from tourneys to buy packs. I normally get 2-3 contracts per pack.

Is there a way to tell when someone is doing this? I heard about it and suspected it a few times last night.

Surely EA are going to change this at some point and then these guys chickens will come home to roost, I personally think the defending is the most rewarding part of the game now which you would never ever think would be the case with a football game.

Keep an eye on the keeper on the minimap, they tend to run about a bit stupid killing time whilst the AI defends. I've had a few goals from taking long range punts when someone's doing it as they tend to be crap at actually being the goalie.
