***** The Official Fifa 12 Thread *****

Managed to snag David Silva in a pack last night, so all being well by the time I fire the xbox up and sit infront of it still feeling ill, I'll have raised some more funds :)

Ive got my Villa gold team together but amazed how much more I spent compared to FUT11 on what in reality isnt a great FIFA12 team. Agbon and Bent probably cost more than my whole non-IF Villa team last year...

Not sure what Ill go for next - compelled to pick up Villa silvers but sadly they arent cheap. Not at all sure what league/nationality I want to target yet - still working out the game.

Question: Anyone finding their creativity stifled in FIFA12? I dont try silly things that often as Im too worried about a counter and conceding a goal becuase my defence isnt up to much. Its kinda making me bored of FIFA...

Sounds like how i started my season with bristol rovers on world class.

Just when i string a few good wins together, and think im mastering the game i get thumped 4-0. Happened three times already this season.

Bent is massively overpriced at the moment compared to last year when he was what, 1-2K? I saw him sell for 20,000 coins the other day, the Premier League is absolute madness.

Yeah I started with a EPL team, realised how much I hated them all so sold them for massive profit and bought a La Liga team which is much better :D

Just attack and press back on the controller when you lose the ball, AI should defend for you and probably set you up with a chipped through ball for a easy goal, all the cool kids do it :D

I started with EPL too, realised that the half decent players are ridiculously expensive and any of the reasonably priced players are ****, so I quickly gave up on that and went to Ligue 1. Just going to save coins now as when the time comes to sell these players they'll probably be worthless, I paid 15,000 for Lloris for example. :p

I picked mine up for 9k yesterday - think he was around 3k on PS3 in FUT11. Not too bad as I think hes even better this year than last.

But for 20k theres so much more better out there - I just wanted to make my Villa team as usual, they ended up being my favoured UT team last year but I doubt it will be this year.

Think Ill stick with Serie A to start off with - wanna try Ligue 1/Bundesliga but not familiar with their players...

Ive spent a massive £3 so far!

I'm not spending anything this year. Not a penny.

I've just traded what I had, bought a La Liga side (nothing special) that will sell for what I paid for them.

Last year I picked up Milito for 20k and could even shift him for 15k by the time I wanted to sell up.

People are going to have some massive losses on pretty average players when they come to change squads. I'd be tempted to stockpile cash rather than pile it into a side at this point in time. 10k+ for Nilmar? No thanks...

Indeed - Im gonna spend as much as I did last year (£10/£15), though I did end in profit which was nice :)

Definitely being liquid with a reasonable team you can play with is the way forward til things settle down. Theres no harm in just playing offline tournaments with a crap team to keep coins coming in til you feel like you can start building and competing online.

10K for Nilmar - LOL. Though I did pay 7k for Agbon :(. But my Villa team isnt one Ill be selling...

One way I look at it is that putting in say £40 into the game should mean you should have 400k in coins (using old ebay pricing). Looking at some of the squads Ive seen in here I wouldnt say any are worth that much in coin once you consider the cash injection...

Just had a really enjoyable match, came up against ateam of:

And managed to take it 3-1, my team at the minute is suiting me so well, may spend the money from Silva to fund Pique to replace Rami & Ramos to replace Coentrao, but Elia is surprisingly awesome!

Beginning of the season he and Defoe and the like were about 10k, I remember as I had them both then a few months later I went back on and they were going for a pittance.
 
Professional is such a big jump from Semi-Pro. You go from winning anywhere from 3 to 8-0 to just barely drawing or nicking a win. :(

Welcome to my world. Been playing UT singleplayer. And also Be a Pro. My Pro is a striker for the Mighty Spurs. Scored a peach of a goal this morning against Aston Villa. Ball was chipped over by VDV and my Pro volleyed it in the top corner past Given from 25yds. Got so excited about saving it I only managed to save the ball rolling about in the back ov the net. Still, at least I got the 'Rude Boy' achievement for it!!!
