What motivates you to make you hit the Gym?

The thing is I'm uber lazy - and if I don't do something I will turn into a fat slob and I refuse to be one of those.

You honestly don't come across as lazy FF....far from it.
Since buying my own kit at home......i've suffered from couch potato-ism.
 
Been a fatty. Its not cool. Not going back.

There are no mirrors in my Gym, just racks, bars and kettlebells :)

haha - well when I'm "on it" I'm not - in fact I'm fiercely not lazy. However, I could easily mope at home if I'm not in the mood. I lose motivation from time to time, usually when tired, or just feeling under pressure from life. I bounce back though, however, it's down to wanting to feel better about myself again, and I like to eat naughty foods, so I kinda have to do it! haha!

Sorry for shattering dreams, as beastly as I am - I am only human too :p
 
Routine. Being doing it 16 years now. It's as natural as breathing or sleeping to me. Oh, and I look good on the beach too :p

Errm... not really. I enjoy playing with my kids and want to be able to do that as long as my body holds up. I want to be able to throw them into the air not just now (when they're 1 and 3) but as long as they want to be thrown.

On the flipside, it's an excuse to eat as much good food as I can, and can afford. :)

Hell, my wife even thinks I'm wasting my time and doesn't understand why I do it (should I be worried?)...
 
I don't actually go to a gym, but I train in MMA, Judo and Kyokusin. An I do that because they keep me fit, I enjoy them.

I don't want to be big, but these keep me in shape and looking good.

I do also enjoy a good scrap :)
 
Attempting to get into some sort of condition with the idea to compete next year if I can get into condition that is...
 
I love the feeling of being fit and having energy and stamina to do as i please, whether it be skate,ski or riding my horses.

Background in dance and athletics.
 
Honestly I think weight lifting is becoming more popular amongst 'nerds' because of its incredible nerdiness! You can learn SO much and the constant progression in the gym is what motivates you. It has a scary amount of similarity to RPG gameplay/progression, honestly think about it. I think it's what motivates me sort of subconsciously on top of the usual not wanting to be a fat **** part that I'm more aware of.
 
Hope she doesnt touch the weights, might become a bodybuilder then.

I stick to low weights and high reps, I want to look toned not bulky.

Have you ever lugged bales of hay (full barn) or stacked 20KG hardfeed bags. :p

I have a set routine.
