iPhone 4S - the deal you got

Since my upgrade to iOS 5 GM my cellular data seems to have gone screwy saying I've done 9GB each way since June 2010, which sounds a fair amount, but I barely ever use 3G, infact I'm halfway through a billing cycle and have only used 3MB according to MyO2. Odd.

On topic, I can easily manage on 500MB a month as the majority of the time I'm on WiFi.

3 are looking pretty tasty..

Code:
Cost: £15
Contract Length: 1 months
Inclusive UK voice minutes: 300 mins
Inclusive UK text messages: 3000 texts
Internet Allowance: 1GB data

I think they have a 30 day cooling off period, so you could actually go for the 12 month option (£10 / month) and cancel after the first month, if you have a crap signal.

Has anyone tried GiffGaff? They run on the O2 network, and some of their prices are incredible ...

I'm with GG at the moment after my 3GS contract ended earlier in the year. They are good so am keeping with them - bought the 4S direct and will chop the sim up to fit or whatever you have to do :p

I'm using the £10 a month bag which seems a good deal to me especially not being tied into a contract. Gone are the days of paying £35 a month odd thankfully.

Sim free for me I just cannot stop the vodafone sim free deal I have 600 minutes unlimited texts and 500mb data for £10 a month.

The other option of course is buy the phone from Apple, say £499 for 16GB one. Then get the one plan on a rolling monthly contract for £25/m.

Comparable cost over 24 months is £1,099 vs £939 so it costs £160 more but you got the option of trading up whenever you want.

I'm looking at 3 on 'The One Plan'

16Gb 4GS
2000 minutes
5000 texts
All you can eat data.
£35 a month
£69 upfront.

Given that I pay £65 a month at the moment for 3000 minutes with Vodafone, thats pretty much perfect for me.

O2 have nothing officially on tarrifs yet but I did speak to someone on o2's customer service line this morning who said they will probably be very similar to the iPhone 4 tarrifs but you pay more for the 4S outright.

I'm Really not sure what to do to be honest! I'm currently on the £15 12 month simplicity tarrif (that expired in June so is just rolling) and it's plenty for me on my iPhone 3G. I have O2's home broadband and got that £5 off my bill each month deal for being an O2 mobile customer and also the first 6 months free for being with them more than 2 years (Ive been with them for nearly 10), however the 6 month free bit has now finished.

Do I wait to see what tarrifs and phone price O2 actually do or do I just buy a phone outright and carry on either with my current tarrif or move to 3's £10 a month sim only tarrif? The 3 sim in my iPad has been much better for 3G coverage than my O2 sim! but my home broadband discount is nice!

Small detail but it's £99 upfront. It was £69 upfront for the iPhone 4 before price drop.

I think I'm going to stick with Vodafone over 3. I'm really not keen on a 24 month contract.

I would too, as I've been insanely brand loyal to Vodafone over the years, but the Vodafone signal in my office - literally in the centre of London - is absolute pap, where as I know the 3 singal is a lot healthier.

I live in Watford and the signal is very sporadic, however I have a SureSignal for home (they gave me one for free), and in work 1) I'm not meant to use my phone and 2) I have a 3 mifi for data.

3 does make more sense, but it's the 24 month long contract, unknown provider (to me) and my Vodafone loyalty that will keep me with them.

Also, with Vodafone, whenever I have had an issue, their forum is excellent and you've also got the head office option.

I know but what the hell do you do over VNC on such a small screen? I just use remote desktop at work.

I can operate my entire pc through my phone easily, just requires a lot of zooming in and out. Since I highly doubt I would be allowed to use the work PC for VNC.
