People are completely impossible to spot if they're in a shadowy area, especially in the stupid pitch black buildings at the checkpoints.

Thats one area where Dice have been incredibly ignorant. Theres been a few multi page thread on the uk forums about this. The graphics devs have been tweeted numerous times and they point blank refuse to answer anything about why the game is so bright in bright areas and dark in dark areas, and have totally ignored multi page threads on the subject.

Some of the buildings you mention its like walking into a damn black hole, the lighting is totally over the top, it just goes to the extremes of light and dark. Even shadows from tree leaves projecting onto the ground can make a guy laying prone virtually invisible on some areas of Caspian.

There was a presentation dice did and it seemed like colour grading was the option that made the exteme contrast look in the game, doesnt look like it has a toggle so more than likely the game will ship with the extremes of contrast it has now.
 
my comp could handle metro map ok, with just a few fps spikes with all on high, caspian my pc crys like a little baby even with all my settings on low, in my experience of this beta, if u wana play the big maps, make sure u dont have a dual core cpu :P

Oh and gazzab, that pretty much sums up my experience most of the time on caspian :/ god damn shadow campers annoy the hell outa me

Exactly! It's just way too much. I think one of the reasons they won't change it is because it probably makes the graphics look a lot better than they really are. We see nothing of the lighting previewed in the SP footage on these MP maps... everything's just overblown and either too bright or too dark.

I refuse to change my colour settings every time I start this one game.

Yep, my biggest issue with this game though is the way they've completely defeated the object of ammo/health packs & repair tools, which consequently makes squads pretty pointless other than to use them as mobile spawn points. Yes you might still do better if you stick with your squad or members of your team but there's far less of an incentive to bother... in fact, I seem to die less when I stay well away from them.

This is why it's a step backwards from BC2, along with vehicle health regen, lack of destructibility and the other issues I've mentioned.

Open to abuse I know but I properly hate caspian border. I think I actually hate conquest. I know its beta so its forgivable but the difference in hit reg and gaming experience between rush and cnq is like night and day.

32 slot rush server @ KC - 20ms ping
32 slot cnq server @ KC / any uk server - 250ms ping.

Says all there is to be said really. I know they are testing netcode and all that but I've had a dire afternoon of instant deaths, warping players, kills when no one is there that then show ad 10m away infront of me. Invisible players with just a muzzle flash, AT rounds that pass through tanks (old BF2 bug).

I totally see why they were reluctant to have a beta on cnq, its far far to heavy atm at server end.
 
Hmm, tried re-binding my xbox pad for the jets (had me flying with the right thumb stick by default), but it's all inverted on the axes so had to reset it. :/

Thats 54000 hours in 13 days. 4150 hours a day. So unless they have 400 + people on it. He's talking tripe.

Perhaps, just maybe, he means since the beta build.:eek: That's several weeks old.

Calm down dear, just a misunderstanding. I can't read Twitter here and read is "since beta release, on the 27th". If he means since the build, then yeah fair enough.
