AMD Bulldozer Finally!

There was definitely something wrong with that stream.
Cinebench for an FX8150 at stock (3.6GHZ) is 1.03, which is the same as the Phenom II 965.

Defiantly but the comments were good for lols

Nah hes too busy stood at the warehouse door trying to turn the delivery of 8150's around to wherever they came from.

Don't think it's that bad...

raw compute / 2 core gaming - avoid.

Video encoding - looks promising - it might just turn up trumps

Power consumption sucks at 1.21 Jiggawatts though

dunno if anyone is on OCN but JF-AMD is over there telling people not to pay attention to leaked benchmarks.

Surprise surprise.

My friend has the motherboard they are using. The slots of the same channel have the same colour.
Honestly, I've never seen mobo ram slots of the same channel be different colours.

There is confusion of definition.

I just looked at the PDF of that mobo.

chanm.png

[A1 A2 2/colours channel A] [B1 B2 2/colours channel B] channel A channel B.

A single channel is 2 colours, hence that mobo pic was in single channel.

On a Tipple channel mobo you get 2 colours per channel still, A B C.

its slower per thread than current gen because the pipeline is longer. this is obvious. they needed speed to get around this and didnt get the yields. this is bad news for everyone.

Student loan is in so i'm good to go. Ball's in your court AMD - but then there aren't even any BD mITX motherboards yet so I might be forced to go SB.

Unless some miracle is going to occur and BD is actually much better than seen so far I say SB it up. Let BD mature, see how it stacks up versus Ivybridge in 2012 and consider it for your next upgrade.

I'm coming to the realisation that I am going to be buying SB. I just guess that i've waited all this time, I may as well see it out to the very end.

But as said, i'm at the mercy of the motherboard companies - we might have an LGA1366 situation occuring in that you just can't get the power regulation circuitry onto mini-ITX, in which case the decision is already made for me.

Yeah might as well wait and see what is what. I think best case is that the first few weeks of launch are going to be BIOS/Software updates ahoy to get things stable/working properly.

I'm just confused, BD is AM3+ and AMD says it won't work on AM3 motherboards yet Asus are saying that it will work on their Crosshair IV Formula AM3 motherboard, which there is a bios update for but whether it will actually work well or not I have no idea?

I'm solely a gamer so do I wait and see firstly how good BD is and then pray it works on my current motherboard or do I just take advantage of the 2500k in Today's only deal and head down the SB route?

i just hope it'll be under £220 @ ocuk.....

Why? Your 1090t looks to be a better all round chip, 6 proper cores vs 8 units sharing FPUs

If these benchmarks are real and BD sucks this bad I amazed no one at AMD hit the abort button. Llano is brilliant, Brazos too, it looks like AMD can't make enough of them. BD? They shouldn't bother
