Dark Souls (Demon's Souls 2)

I don't think this game is for me, I have put in a few hours and it just feels so sluggish, I have tried light armour and it still doesn't feel right,

And the fact that the bonfires are so far apart and if you die on a boss you have to kill 100 annoying little enemies and spend 10-15 mins trekking back to him only to die in 2-3 hits and have to do it all again, it winds me up so much I think I will have to trade it in soon

Which format do you have it on?

only advice i can think of is work on your endurance early so you can wear decent armour and still dive about like a chinese gymnast. and you want masterkey to get at havel for his ring.

Not really, like Demon's Souls you have to stand EXACTLY behind the enemy in a tiny sweet spot when you strike. Annoying as hell but pretty satisfying when you get your stabbing on :D

i dont think you need to be exactly behind - i do think u need to be exactly immobile. Dont touch the left stick at all and then R1. Its hit and miss though, whats life without a little danger eh! ;)

Nah, I'm quite adept at running up behind the red caped knights and backstabbing them and I'm never still when I hit the attack button.

I finally managed to kill the knight in undead burg, he kindly dropped his sword, but I can't use it yet. I also managed to kill the boar after 4 attempts and made it through to what looks like the castle keep. I sighted a heavily armoured npc inside, but I didn't get inside to see what he is.

I also killed the npc sitting down near a bonfire, only really out of annoyance due to recently dying, he didn't drop anything, but I did get 1000 souls for the kill.

Are ghosts only kill able by magic?

use transient curse herb thingy and you can normal weapon kill them, if the ghost dont drop anymore they cost 4000 each.
i'm not going back in there till im lv90 i reckon heh

Prob been answered loads but... What stats shall I pump as a pyro?

Also is magic really that OP? I'm enjoying him as I kill stuff quick but the warrior I had I don't know just seemed to be able to brawl more and stay alive longer.

Basically that's the difference in classes, pyro is a long range magic user, warrior is an upclose brawler that will have better armour.

As you build your characteur you wikk have the option to add magic to your warrior or upgrade your pyros attack stats and armour

Just took down the two gargoyles, after going Human and having the ghost soul help me and my dragon sword. I pulverised them, also chopped of one of their tails and got a Gargoyle Axe which bends when it swings, looks awesome.

You can ignore the Faith and Intelligence stats, pump some points into Strength, Dexterity, Endurance and Vitality to make your guy better in combat. Then the odd point in Attunement for more spell slots, you can upgrade your spells later on as well.

I'm about level 30 at the moment and I'm hitting for just under 300 damage, and my spells vary from enemy types, but do good damage to all the big nasty guys and bosses :)

They were a git as I was cursed so I couldn't reverse hollowing and one clean fire hit finished me.... gave me another great "get in" moment when I finally downed them (didn't get the axe though :()

Still loving it but I've got to start moving into more unknown teritory which will be interesting and very unnerving I'm guessing.

I love this game, just made it to the undead burge, really really enjoying the challenge of it.
Started with a Wanderer and ramped up my edurance. Currently using a spear and sheild

I am really not enjoying this. I must have not saved properly or something yesterday, so I'm back in the undead burg, and I JUST CAN'T KILL THAT BIG KNIGHT WITH A SWORD AND SHIELD. I must have got a lucky riposte on him or something. Its like, 10 mins to get to him, die in 2mins, his thrusts go through my shield. 10 mins to get back to him, same again. Done that COUNTLESS, times. And the ones throwing the INSANELY accurate fire bombs are ****ing me over too

I'm there myself, apparently backstabbing is useful against him

His attacks can't go through your shield, unless you haven't the stamina to block.

Just try getting behind him and doing the big blow or backstabbing.
