AMD Bulldozer Finally!

Will prices of x4 phenoms or i2500k still go down or are they gonna stay the same :(

An incentive to those who were waiting for BD to look at other chips but highly unlikely prices will drop outside of that, why would they?

Anything AMD are EOLing can only go up from now in the short term.

Current Intel chips likely will only price shift as the £:$ exchange rate fluctuates.

no need to waste money (unless you want silent system) - i have far from good cooler (Akasa Venom) and my 2600K runs happily at 4.8ghz ~30ish idle,~52-55 load ;)

No waste, I already had most of the parts from my old watercooled Q6600/IP35 Pro/4GB/HD6950 set up.

Really disapointed with Bulldozer, wish I had just gone with SB 4 months ago instead of waiting for this :/

The game was up as soon as those AMD slides leaked.

Their new flagship was being bigged up by comparing to the most expensive, irrelevant i7 Extreme Edition. Not on performance, but on overall system price.

It's like saying you can go 70MPH on the motorway for a fraction of the cost of a Formula 1 car in a Ford Fiesta.

Well ive ordered an 1100T

Its just not worth buying it no matter how much I want to..

Once I flog the code fro deus ex thats a nice cpu for 125...

Will have to see what piledriver brings..

I hope the AMD fanboys are crying, thinking that BD would come on top..... seesh!

All it does is give a reason for intel to charge more, and/or release slower improvements.

It's not good for the market to cheer AMD's shortcomings in such a way ;)

It is disappointing however.

at least for today intel prices went down a bit in some other site ;)

But I know what you saying, with out competition, it is a free world for intel prices.

Very disappointing and anyone saying otherwise well i am sure they have their reasons but not based in reality being honest. Thing is though the triumphalism of some is completely stupid while this is a bad day for AMD it's a worse day for us as consumer's we now have Intel in a position where they can pretty much do as they please.

There is zero reason for Intel to push the boundarys, no reason to release new tech faster and zero reason for price drops how the hell is that good. Sorry but Amd have a lot of work to do, in the immediate they have damage limitation and the medium to longterm they need to go back to the drawing board and rework some of the elements of BD that clearly are not working.

I had already decided before the release to put off an upgrade and like a few were going to wait for piledriver but we have to be realistic here PD was set to bring 10 maybe 15% improvement that is simply not enough to get them back in the game. Reviews are so inconsistent in performance figures (apart from them all being bad) that something clearly is not working anywhere near as it should and no amount of bios upgrades is likely to sort that out.

Like it or not at this point we are more likely looking at a design screwup and that will take time to sort out properly. I am not enjoying today i really wanted something competitive from Amd i wanted them to get back in the game.

Because all of these fanboys were going on about HOW wonderful BD would be. Analyzing every detail about these CPU's. Talking about how BD would switch off core's to save power etc.

And guess what. THEY WERE WRONG!

It's bad for everyone tbh. Probably worse for Intel fanbois :D
