What I find damned odd is that 'Moderators' arbitrarily close threads where their views differ from that of the OP and then keep posting to them.

They still do Sweet FA about the incessant pointless, irrelevant and abusive posts by the usual suspects.
 
The other side of the arguement is that you post news articles, make comments which are controversial/twisting the truth/factually incorrect/heavily biased/aim to provoke etc and then disappear from the thread without engaging with the posters who actually want a serious discussion.

That's the main reason why people give you abuse and then the threads get closed.

It's a shame, because on the odd occasion you actually bring up something that's worth discussing and don't ruined it with provokative opinion.

Yes but they inevitably get closed by trigger happy dons.

I don't see why this last thread was closed tbh
