Dark Souls (Demon's Souls 2)

i managed to kill havel by leading him to the floor where you enter the tower, leading him out onto staircase and let him take a swing then hit him with a firebomb or arrow he'll then run back inside to the door you unlock to get at him.aggro him and he'll come back out rinse and repeat takes bout 5-10 minutes to kill him.

If you two-hand the weapn, the strength requirements for the weapon are halved, so you'd only need 23 strength. It's still quite a lot early in the game, so you may be better trying to get the Drake Sword further on as it only requires 16 strength, and does more damage anyway.

This isn't quite true - 2 handing only increases your strength to 150%, so you'd need 31 strength to wield a 46 strength weapon.

Yea just played it last night, started over and choose the Pyro as it seems to be popular with a lot of you on here.
That Havel guy is hard one slap and I was dead straight away, did what you did, had him go out to the stairs and I through fire at him, did'nt seem to take much damage.

The fire spell you have at the start seems while slow and the range is really short.

Can this be boosted later on dose anyone know?

I'm gutted about this game. I've waited for so long for it, then it hits at one of my 'not into gaming' periods.
Basically, I bought my first gaming PC last month and have been playing a lot of multiplayer co-op with mates between SCII and BF£ Beta etc. So i've lost interest in single player gaming. It'll come back, i go through phases...but I didn't think it'd do the game justice to play it while not fully in the mood for it.

So i've just been pottering about on it, scoping it out a bit and when the time comes i'll get really stuck into it.

I did notice it seems considerably harder than Demon's Souls though. I never found the former all that challenging after the 1st 2 areas and only died a few times through the whole game (not counting falling from ledges). But in Dark Souls i'm really struggling.

Maybe it's due to getting the good old purple flame shield early on in Demons Souls and loads od Soul Arrows. This time I have barely any magic and no good equipment, plus the enemies are harder. I can barely harm the bosses...brutal!

Not doing too badly on this at the mo, just about to go against the Moonlight Butterfly. From what I've read, the only way to 'sell' items is when you encounter a certain npc later in the game, other than that you can buy a bottomless bag. Although I'm not sure how far away these are from where I am, and if there's any point lugging around tons of useless weapons weighing me down. Any ideas?

Got the drake sword! Only enough str to 2 hand it though.

Question, with item load, should I just drop any items I don't want? Since you can't sell them anywhere, atleast not at the moment

Just got smashed by him, by the time i figured out what to do i died.

I've watched a few videos on youtube, it's great seeing people get so close to dying on walk-through and boss battle tutorials. I'm think I'm going to go 2h with my drake sword on the Butterfly boss when he lands to finish him quick.

I did for the first time summon a person to my realm yesterday, unintentionally we ended up going for the Gargoyle bosses and it was a breeze!...ish. Might try it for future bosses, assuming I can stay human long enough :/

I do love this game,

started from scratch since I wanted the master key.

Made a theif, ( who doesnt wana look like a ninja). Firebombed the asylum demon, got his hammer, then went and got soul arrow, damn its like playing the game on easy mode lol. Also managed to get the Drake sword, again its awesome, I think I'm level 15 so far, just made to the blacksmith in the undead parish and killed the tower knight as well.

So best class for rofl stomping? Stuck on the first boss thing as you go over the bridge in Unborg or whatever it's called.

Thief / Wanderer. I'm currently using a thief. Get soul arrow as soon as you can, nice sheild and a drake sword ( with stats to use them) = kill everything.

Is that the big boar? Just get it to run into one of the bonfires thats how I killed it, same as the knight

Oh, yea anything that uses fire, I used firebombs and jumping of the tower for a dropping attack to kill him, then stabbed him a lot with my knife

what is great about this game is that unlike just about every other game out there....there is no game over...the game doesnt quit... you do :p
