I'm not going to suggest for one second that that is the reason.

However, i'll leave you with this: Should the people running the country not set an example to their people - i.e try not to be corrupt, greedy, and underperforming?

well like i say you're focusing on the bits that appeal to you (the us-israel deals) without looking at the wider picture for instance the even larger us-arab arms deals.
you are creating a link that looks suspicious individually but when applied to the defense sector of any nation or indeed any trade agreement between nations, it is normality in motion.

just as with Mr Fox's personal friends links.

Im not ignoring the Arab links, I already implied that in my other post "wonderful" people.

But of course, Israel is simply more relevant since the lobby is there, its just a rather strange bunch of links, i mean fine i can understand them, but alongside being friends with Fox and having an intelligence company help him, it gets more interesting...frankly.

Probably wouldn't matter if we didn't pay for Foxs lifestyle in the first place.

but its not a strange bunch of links, thats my point. the man has classic links for the business, it would be more unusual (although maybe more helpful) if he had strong links to russian/chinese or brazilian/indian defence businesses.

and the private intelligence and security sectors in britain have boomed since the 90's again for his apparent speciality having such links would be beneficial and expected of him.

the only problem as you say, is he wasnt accountable and there was possibly a misuse of public funds. his links should not really ring alarm bells.

Its not strange i guess, its just the BBC said it like it wasn't important, but whatever, i dislike the idea of private companies like that, it just becomes about money and so on, going to get messy.

I mean PMCs are growing in popularity in use by governments, since then that government doesn't seem like its at fault.

Just because it's government, does not mean it's confidential. It might be, but it doesn't follow automatically. The only bit that sounds as though it should not be in the public domain are address details of some of his constituents. The rest sounds innocuous.


However...

...from a purely political standpoint it is mind-meltingly stupid. Here at work we treat no end of stuff that really isn't confidential in any way as though actually it was top secret. Not because it matters in the least if a random stranger found it, but because explaining how tedious and non-confidential it was, and why it was, to an an over-excited tabloid editor would take forever and we'd never hear the end of it.

so sharing his diary is a sackable offence due to risk of the security, despite people like the queen posting their diaries + future engagements online?

to be honest the portsmouth MP news is the most worrying ive read today but it seems like its being put on the backburners so the people that wanted fox out got what they wished.
