One thing i noticed when playing Caspian in the Beta, for 9 maps out of 10 when a new game loaded up and i clicked deploy i was sat in a Jet.
I was having to not press deploy so i got a spawn closer to vehicles rather than the jets all the time, Hope i have as much luck in the game, saves me waiting if i want a go at flying.

all im seeing is rush rush rush from this game. wheres all teh conquest maps
ever map is playable in every mode

hehe, to be fair, a lot of the comments from the various press groups have been 'xxxxx is a rush map, you start at X and have to Y to get to the M-Com before pushing on to Z...' and theres been reference to how most of the maps start in rush mode, even on the BF Blog. Theres rarely any talk of 'theres a flag on a hill, a flag next to a house....' cos either its pretty dull or there isnt much to set the scene in words. The Canals map is one of the few that brings up different recognisable locations, and i guess Caspian we'd be able to recognise a few by their setting (radio tower, checkpoint, refuel station etc) but there does seem to be more talk from a Rush mode perspective, however as mentioned all 9 maps will be playable in all 5 modes (CQ, Rush, TDM, SDM & erm.. CQ64 :D google ***. theres 32 and 64... which actually answers a Q i had the other day and couldnt get a clear answer to - was there 16/32 player versions like in BF2)

ugh, the 5th one was squad rush, not 32 player conquest as i'd just read. :(

yey re-edit, there IS 32 player & 64 player conquest. http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/bat...efield-3-multiplayer-game-mode-explained.aspx

I wonder if 2 geforce 480s will max this game out at 60fps.

If 2 480s can get 55 fps in metro 2033 at max settings surely it can get over 60fps on this game.

^

They'll easily max it. I was getting 60fps with 2 5850's outside on metro maxed and I don't think Xfire/SLI was even scaling well in the beta.

00:00:01... -2 days & 16/18hr if VPN has anything to do with it for most people :D

You can find a poop temporary VPN for free via google, like a 1hr trial or something before you pay for it.
If you activate via VPN though, im wondering if you'll still be able to play it afterwards OFF the VPN, because i certainly wouldnt fancy trying MP via a VPN connection to somewhere in the USA and not expecting to die to people i cant even see.
I'd happily take 3 days of SP though :D, i couldnt possibly comment on the advantages of downloading the warez of BC2 in the 3 days we waited to be allowed to play it ;)
The one thing i really want is 30min alone in SP to configure my settings, seeing as doing it in MP isnt the ideal time, and all the restarting just to enable/disable certain settings. I want friday to come and to dive straight into the action without thinking my gfx look weak or too good and im getting stutter or heavy frame dives etc. SP is a pretty good place to get a solid foundation to tweak later on.

Operation Metro:
" Because of its diverse sections, it's a map that asks you to constantly adapt your class and load out. "

Epic fail on the most part during the beta then. Lost count the number of times i seen people only using the sniper rifle. Most of the time on my squad too. Thats randoms for you i guess.
Diverse sections?
How many rounds of Metro actually got to the last sites to destroy/defend?
So many rounds ended either outside at the start or the first two sites inside.
Can't see many people bothering with Metro in the full game, got sick to death of it to be honest.

Of the nine maps chosen, they gave us the worse one for the majority of the beta. At least the worst of the maps has come and gone. Caspian on the otherhand was a delight to be on

Operation Firestorm sounds like the map all us BF fans have been crying for but could the size of it be too big?
Looks like a few people will be getting stranded in the middle of nowhere on that map.

Can't wait :)

You are correct, you will be resigned to single player only if you do this, and you will have to be connected to the vpn to play it on that mode too because I don't think Origin has an offline mode which you can switch to to then be able to turn off the vpn without it locking the game again.

More hassle than it's worth, in my opinion.

I didn't get to play caspian border, but did it really feel as big as a proper BF(2) map like this one?

I'm also a little disappointed that there could only be jets on 2 maps too, caspian and Firestorm, and that 4 of the mpas are close quarters and not proper BF maps. Would have like to have seen 2/3 of the 9 as close quarters with the rest being 'proper' BF maps (open, big, lots of vehicles etc) :(

At least Metro is the only infantry only map (apart from in the tdm game mode).

******g huge map. cant recall but that isnt the biggest map that BF2 offered was it...?

knew BF3 wouldnt be a true successor 2 BF2. majority of its core is inspired by BC2.

Caspian certainly didn't feel as big as that map because, frankly, it isn't as big. I think that map is one of the ones included in the Expansion so we can see then if it is the same or not.
