iPhone 4S - the deal you got

I sold my iPhone 4 for £300

Then got the 32GB for £269, and signed up for a 24 month contract at £30 per month. Which considering I've been on o2 for 12 years now and don't really plan on leaving them, and was paying £26 before, £4 extra a month and a free handset was a great deal for me

That's doesn't sound free to me :P but nice one :)

Just got off the phone to Tesco having got my text from them finally. They have reserved me a 64GB Black iPhone 4S, But dissapointingly they are offering absolutely no discount for upgrading customers.

I said to the guy on the phone "so you're calling it an upgrade, but it's actually just me taking out a new contract?"

His response was "yes that's another way of looking at it sir" lol

He did also say that they are ONLY selling iPhone 4S's to existing customers so that's what I'm getting by being an existing customer.

I'm really not too pleased that they aren't discounting it at all after I've spent all this money with them, that alone makes me want to move on. But at the same time I REALLY don't want to be tied into more than a 12 month contract.

Is anywhere else doing 12 months? if so are they competetive with Tesco?

/edit the Tesco deal is £370 upfront for the 64GB 4S, £35/month 750mins 5000 texts 1GB data with no tethering.

Cheers,

G

The deal from Tesco isn't too bad.

£35 * 12 = £420

£420 + £370 = £790

If you bought the phone outright it would cost you £699. I don't think Tesco could off you much of a better deal. They don't need to offer existing customers better deals as they are already given, what I think, is a pretty good deal.

Just got an upgrade from three with IPhone 4S 32 GB Black from Blackberry 9700

£35/month on One plan
and £159 upfront instead of £189 so that's a £30 upgrade bunos/discount
24 months total including upfront, £999 but since you can upgrade again after 20 months then that settle down to about £859.

What do you think guys?

Were you still in contract then? If not you could have gone through Quidco for the £115 or whatever it is now. Were you on The One Plan before?

I'm due for an upgrade now and not sure what to do, I've upgraded to the Blackberry bold 9900 which is being delivered this week, I'm with Orange, but I got a 14 day cooling period, inwhich i might send the BB back and go for the 4S, which I can get for £41 a month.

Love Blackberrys but they just aren't bringing the tech to the table, and thinking of switching to the Apple.

Tempted to get a 4s as my Nokia 5800 is 2 years old now and on it's last legs. What are three like overall?

Currently on O2 Simplicity, 800 mins, 1600 texts and unlimited data for £20 which I think is a good deal so am a little reluctant to cancel it..

Guys

Apologies for my laziness but I wonder if you could give me some assistance ... I currently am on an o2 plan and have been for the last 6 years. Its time to upgrade and I think it’s time to either move to another provider (as the reception at my house is crap and there 3G coverage is pants) or I threaten to leave to try and get a better deal.

I currently have an iphone 4 and get -

Unlimited texts
500MB Data
600 Minutes

£45 PM

I very rarely go over on my minutes allowance and never seem to go over my data.

What are the best deals out there at the moment ?

Cheers

Are you looking to get an iPhone 4S? If so how much are you willing to pay for the phone? How long a contract do you want?

Yes i do want to upgrade to a 32GB 4S, i would like an 18 month contract. I dont want to buy the phone outright unless im going to save a lot of cash :)

Just spoken to o2 and apprently they cannot move on the tariff at the moment and it would be as follows on an 18 month contract -

600 minutes + unlimited texts = £199 for 32GB iphone 4S £36 PM + £6 for 500MB data bolt on =

£42 Per month

Seems a bit of a crap deal to me ....

It's not that great, try Three if you're willing to move provider.

2000 minutes + 5000 texts + Unlimited Data = 35pm + 199 upfront for 32GB 4S

Although, this is a 24 month contract, I forgot you wanted a shorter one.

Perhaps I’m better off forgetting the 4S for the time being and moving myself onto a rolling contract ?. Then when the next iphone comes out i can move onto a contract then.

As a SIM-only deal (Simplicity) O2 do that for £21.50 if you sign up for 12 months, or £27 as a 1-month rolling contract. http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/simpli.../column/monthly_cost/dir/asc/phonetype/iphone

So are o2 on a whole just really expensive in comparison to the competition

O2 are the only network in the UK to do Visual Voicemail in the UK, and charge a premium because of it.

Lots of people, myself included, grumble about O2s poor 3G coverage, however to give them credit I've found O2 to have the best basic cellular coverage for making calls and their customer service has always been good.

Clocked 6.31Mbit download at my parents' place on Three this evening where previously I could barely get a signal on O2 there.

Pleased with Three so far.

My signal at home isnt as good as O2 (expected as the O2 mast is almost literally outside my house) but even on 3/5 bars i get 5mbs 150ms download which is better than my BT broadband connection.

Now just to get my PAC code form 02..only been in the queue for 90 mins lol, they must be busy!

Same here, got 3G at home, albeit only 2 bars but 3G around here is unheard of!

Only took 2 days to transfer my number from O2 so all positive so far from Three.
