Steve Jobs vowed on the demise of android!

Last i check Android has a bigger market share........

Except it doesn't.

The fact is Steve Jobs is dead and Android isnt!
Android is fighting fit and healthy in the latest icecream sarnie. Steve jobs on the other hand.......

Need i say more?

Hahaha, yeah. Android, a piece of software is immune to cancer and therefor superior to a human... wait, what?

One less aids infected homo (allegedly)

This manages to be idiotic, ignorant, homophobic and ridiculous. Well done.

This. I don't like or dislike IOS or Android. In fact I couldn't careless. I want the OS that is best for me at the time I want it. Often that is neither of them.

It's similar for Windows v OSX

Oh wow, someone with sense and doesn't go on a rage because someone likes something they don't?

To sum it up I agree with you, not to mention it also depends on current best contract plan and service provider in my case.

I truly hope that Android dominates the market and legal battles between Samsung and Apple are over since they're doing more harm than good.

Android will always have a bright future because of its open character, something that Apple cannot afford to do.

I hate his remarks, I am incredibly concerned about these patent wars where whoever has the biggest lawyer stock pile is the most likely to come out top.
It's not a legitimate war, it's a greed war.

All 3(w7p) will have a bright future. Android is the defacto as it has no limitation on hardware or rules for apps to obey.
iOS is a high end market only, the numbers and profits is still growing. That's why market share stats are pointless. iOS does not cater for all where android does. W7p is finally upto scratch and is going to get healthy support from Samsung and Nokia, it's market share will bloom and IMO is the best. It's taken the best features of android and iOS and combined them into a sleek interface.

as much as i now despise the apple ethos and product i am glad they are around mobile wise.

I had the first iphone and i do think it was revolutionary, i have no doubt there would not be android, ios, winmo in their present incarnations without it. I even had the first iphone, imported here before it came out, everyone wanted to see it, it was capable of things that i had never seen before on such a device.

however when i moved to android after there was no doubt that i would never want apple again, jail breaking, being restricted, having to use itunes, [ie you must do this and that] drove me round the bend, not to mention the cost.

but it drove competition, so now we have all these OSs and choice, and with android particularly, choice of hardware and price point.

As for market share, at my work place about 7/10 have android with HTC but all different models, 1/10 iphone and 2/10 other older phones. No RIM/win mo at all.

What annoys me is the patent wars, cause thats just bad for consumers, but i understand each company's stance. You want to use the law to maximise your profits, and there have to be patents otherwise their would be no development, but the system does need overhauling, general patents need to be reduced in severity, like the shape of a phone, maybe the first company to patent it should get a percentage of every model sold if its to vague, so said company benefits but cannot stop other companies using a concept that is the ONLY concept. I know this happens with carrier signals etc.

I dont know what the answer is and can see each viewpoint for what it is..

that said i will never have another iOS product due to its restrictions but definitely see the appeal for others, be it they want a simple product, dont want to mess about with setting android up to its fullest or already have the apple software/hardware and want to continue using these

About the only thing that native Android rips off iOS is the fact that it's a touch-friendly operating system. Jobs was just narked that someone dared to compete (and succeed).

^ This.

I don't like to speak ill of the departed, but frankly the elevation to sainthood of Steve Jobs since his death makes me puke.

The technology industry is no different to any other - someone makes an innovation and the rest of the industry creates their own version. Apple are happy to do that to others, but don't like it when it's done to them.

Ten years ago, when I too was an Apple fanboy, I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I'm so glad I saw through this ridiculous myth that all Apple products are touched by the hand of God.

I agree with reflux too.

Also, Google's campus has giant deserts fitted on its front lawn to celebrate each new OS launch.

There's also a dancing Android:

I'd like to see a dancing Apple, HAH!

I'm actual confused as to why poeple worship Jobs, what exactly did he innovate. From the start I saw/read the Woz did most of the work, then they ripped of Xeron and steven got fired. Then he came back and was a CEO, not exactly sure he was on the groud floor designing ever bit of tech. From my understanding all these sexy products such as MBP, iPhone and such were designed by Jonathan Ive an English born designer.

What I see Jobs being is the best business man who was able to sell anything he wanted to the world. He could take anything stick a apple sticker on it and sell the crap out of that ****.

I'm not trying to troll just wondering what amazing thing he did to be worshiped as a good.

For some reason that reminds me on the giant Internet Explorer 'e' that Microsoft employees dumped outside Netscapes HQ when they launched their latest version. Apparently they all got drunk and thought it was a good idea :)
