How does this help you solder?

This might be a good LINK for you ;)

because soldering 4 wires into a blade with not much solder left, no flux and a plastic surround can be challenging were if i had the appropriate 25amp cables some flux and some high quality solder it would have been no trouble to solder it cleanly
anyway, good news, my pc is no longer on my desk, everything arrived and ive just finished the rebuild , i shall posts pictures up tomorow as i don't have a ipod cable till then (brothers took it to his mates)

And what did you use to compare it too? a spectrum loading?

 no to my old surround sound system, and also my friends decks, once more i have 2 working amps rather than one, there both a bit batter old and tarnished, but they run perfectly :)

pics/vid of setup then? :)

i will get some up in the next couple of days, first i need to tidy all the mess i have created wiring and such (and also has to buy more wire and get more speakers set up, and on Monday i shall get my cable foor the psu, as at the moment it doesn't have one (not a kettle type) and run my 1000watt oldschool nsk 4100 amp through the psu rather than an xbox 360 psu)

Max power watts are as useful as measuring the output in furlongs. RMS output is the key figure. Anything of any quality doesn't even mention max power, only RMS.

this mentions nothing, its olllddddschool, the only information ive found on this amp is its 4 channels and 1000watts, and that may well be incorect, it may be less, and rms on the other amp is 150watts rms on each 4 induvidual channels

Stop trolling him now, fair play to him he made a DIY speaker system. It's his thread he can do what he wants. His original quest was should he go for audio or is it worth it buying a bulldozer. Everyone said the Bulldozer wasn't worth it so he went for sound. Not once did he ask for any of your input on sound. Probably should have been in the project logs. I actually wish I could have a more powerful sub for my hifi setup without spending a good £200-300 on one. He saved a lot of money and he enjoys the sound quality hes getting, it may or may not be good but its his choice at the end of the day so lay off him.

lol nobody is trolling him.

He didnt save any money as far as i can see? he bought a 12v psu and modded it (badly) to power a 12v amplifier, all running a poorly designed bandpass box (designed for a car, not his bedroom). Now how is that cheaper or better sounding than a p/a amp or panel amp driving a sealed 12/15" sub? tell me that. It's not really about him being happy with his own choices when he has ignored better advice, is it?. Stop sticking up for the guy when you haven't read the thread.
